BGR published the image and claims that the render was created for internal use by Amazon's graphic designers, saying multiple sources have verified legitimacy of the render.
The first purported render of the alleged Amazon smartphone shows it to take some design cues from Apple's iPhone, HTC's One and Samsung's Galaxy S line of smartphones. The leaked render shows the sides and overall design of the handset, although the top panel has not been revealed. Notably, the handset sports a minimalistic design, much like Amazon Kindle tablets.
The alleged Amazon smartphone's rear panel is seen with the branding of the company's logo in the middle, while the camera and the LED flash sit on right-top corner. The bottom panel features Micro-USB charging slot and two speaker grills. The phone seems to be running what could be the native Amazon Store app. The left panel of the alleged Amazon handset is seen housing the power and volume rocker buttons, accompanied by a SIM tray.
BGR reports that the leaked render is of a handset from Amazon featuring a large screen but is supposedly meant to be comfortable to use with a single-hand. Further, the rumoured Amazon smartphone is said to feature the company's rumoured gesture recognition feature set which will allow one-handed operations easy.
In addition, the report claims that the rumoured several smartphones Amazon has been planning to release and might hit retail shelves by early summer. An earlier report suggested that Amazon has been preparing to launch its long-rumoured smartphone in the second half of the year, citing people briefed on the company's plans.
Some of the rumoured specifications of the yet-to-be-named Amazon smartphone include a 4.7-inch HD display; quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor; 2GB of RAM and six camera modules. We have already heard that the alleged Amazon smartphone, much like the company's Kindle tablet range, would run a highly customised Android OS and will also support tilt gestures for interacting with various apps.
Earlier, alleged images of a prototype of the yet-to-be-announced Amazon smartphone showcased the device in its full glory. The alleged prototype of the Amazon smartphone was seen covered in a shell to preventing a design leak.
