Lenovo, a day ahead of its A7000 smartphone launch in India, announced that its A6000 has touched the 300,000 unit sales milestone in the country. The Lenovo A6000 was launched in January this year during the CES 2015 at Rs. 6,999, and was made available in India at the end of January.

The Chinese manufacturer additionally announced that since the launch of A6000, it has managed to sell the 180,000 units via flash sales. "As of today, the Lenovo A6000 has sold a total of 300,000 units exclusively through Flipkart. While the first 180,000 sold were via flash sales, Lenovo made the A6000 available without any pre-registration starting 23rd of March," said the firm.

The Android 4.4 KitKat-based smartphone runs Lenovo's Vibe UI 2.0 skin on top, and bears 8GB of built-in storage with expandability via microSD card (up to 32GB). An Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been promised, but no time-frame announced. Other specifications include an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash; a 2-megapixel front camera; apart from a 2300mAh battery rated to deliver up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 264 hours of standby time on 3G network. The Lenovo A6000 measures 141x70x8.2mm and weighs 128 grams.

Lenovo is set to launch the A7000 smartphone on Tuesday. The smartphone is the successor to the Lenovo A6000, and features upgraded specifications as well as a larger display - pegging it as a multimedia device.
