The Android-powered Liquid-series smartphones include Acer Liquid Z320, Acer Liquid Z330, Acer Liquid Z530, and the Acer Liquid Z630, alongside the Liquid Z530S and Liquid Z630S (see above) variants. The Windows 10 Mobile-based phones are Acer Liquid M320 and Acer Liquid M330. The company at the event also launched Predator 6, a smartphone built for gamers, and a PC phone named Jade Primo.
According to Acer, the Liquid Z330 will be available in October at a starting price of EUR 129 (approximately Rs. 9,700). The Liquid M330 will be also available at EUR 129; though is expected to go on sale later this year. The Liquid Z530 and Liquid Z630 will be available at EUR 149 (approximately Rs. 11,000) and EUR 199 (approximately Rs. 15,000) respectively. The company has announced that the Liquid Z630 will go on sale this month while the Z530 will be available starting October. All the new Acer Liquid-series smartphones will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa or EMEA regions. No pricing for the Liquid Z320/ M320 were revealed by the company.
The company stressed that the 'Z' prefix in its smartphones denote Android OS while 'M' is for Windows 10 Mobile.
The Acer Liquid Z320 (see above) based on Android 5.1 Lollipop comes with identical specifications as the Windows 10 Mobile powered Liquid M320. The Liquid Z320 (and M320) features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display and are powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8209 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It packs an 8GB of inbuilt storage, sports a 5-megapixel rear camera, and 2-megapixel front camera. The handset supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and 3G connectivity options. Both the handsets measure 136x66.5x9.6mm. At the launch, the company announced that both the Liquid Z320 and Liquid M320 are targeted towards users who are switching to a smartphone or a feature packed second phone.
Both the Acer Liquid Z330 and Liquid M330 similar to Liquid Z320 and Liquid M320 feature identical specifications. The only difference between the two is Liquid Z330 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop while the Liquid M330 comes with Windows 10 Mobile.
The smartphone features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) processor. Measuring 136x66.5x9.6mm, the Liquid Z330 (and M330) comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage. The handset sports 5-megapixel front and rear cameras.
The Android-powered Liquid Z330 also comes with Liquid UI running on top. Connectivity options on the Liquid Z330 include 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0. For camera enthusiasts, Acer's new Liquid Z330 (and Liquid M330) feature Gourmet, Favourite Shot, and Bright Magic Selfie camera modes.
The company is touting its Acer Liquid Z530 as a "perfect selfie smartphone" as the handset packs 8-megapixel front and rear cameras. The front-camera comes with an 88-degree wide-angle lens.
It features a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) IPS OGS display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6735) processor with 1GB of RAM. The handset comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage. The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Liquid Z530 comes with 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB connectivity options. The Liquid Z530 also comes with several camera modes. It measures 144x70.3x8.9mm.
The Taiwanese company also announced that the Liquid Z530 will be available in another variant dubbed Liquid Z530S which will pack an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. Unfortunately, the company is yet to reveal pricing and availability details of the handset.
Lastly, the Acer Liquid Z630 features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS OGS display and comes with the company's Zero Air Gap screen. Running Android 5.1 Lollipop with Liquid UI on top, the Z630 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6735) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It will be available in 16GB storage variant with expandable storage support. Measuring 156.3x77.5x8.9mm, the Z630 packs a large 4000mAh battery. Similar to the Liquid Z530, the Liquid 630 also sports 8-megapixel rear and front cameras. It includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity features.
The company touts that the handset features key apps designed as "Float Apps" that take up only a portion of the display so users can see and interact with the screen below. The handset also comes pre-installed with AcerEXTEND which allows a wireless connection with a compatible laptop or PC.
Much like the Liquid Z530 and Z530S, the Liquid Z630 will be available in a Z630S model which will offer an octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, and 32GB inbuilt storage.
At IFA, the company revealed its gamers-oriented Predator 6 smartphone featuring a MediaTek deca-core SoC alongside 4GB of RAM and a large 6-inch HD display. The handset features four speakers. The company is yet to reveal pricing and availability details of the Predator 6.
Acer in partnership with Microsoft also revealed the new Acer Jade Primo smartphone touting it as "pocket PC" and "PC phone". The handset comes with Microsoft's anticipated Windows 10 Continuum feature that allows seamless transition from mobile to desktop modes. It features a 21-megapixel camera with a dual-LED flash, 8-megapixel front camera, a 5.5-inch display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. According to Acer, the new Jade Primo smartphone will be able to run universal Windows 10 apps. No pricing or availability details of the Jade Primo were revealed by Acer.
