If the reports come out to be true, then the discontinuation of the iPhone 5c will leave the iPhone 5s as the only handset from Apple to feature a 4-inch display.
Now, rumours from Apple's supply chain in China suggest that the Cupertino-based giant plans to launch a new 4-inch model, which can be expected to launch only in the second half of the year.
Gforgames citing a Chinese publication suggests that Apple's rumoured 4-inch model will be majorly focusing on one hand operations and will also target "female users." To give some context, Apple launched its "bigger than bigger" iPhone 6 featuring a large 4.7-inch display and the iPhone 6 Plus with a 5.5-inch display.
As of now, details related to the new rumoured 4-inch iPhone model are limited. If the rumours are to be believed, it will be interesting to see how Apple will redesign its 4-inch iPhone, as the company already had iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5s sporting 4-inch screens and form factors.
On Thursday, a report claimed that the Taiwanese supplier Pegatron might get 50 percent of the total Apple allocation for the next-generation iPhone, expected to debut next year in September.
The report cited a note to clients from a European brokerage that said, "For the next product cycle, iPhone 6S, likely out in September 2015, we believe for the first time in the iPhone history, Pegatron will become the main source for assembly, with more than 50 percent of the 4.7-inch allocation."
Data released earlier this week claimed that Apple is on its way to a "record quarter" thanks to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sales in major markets.
