The company, also referred to as 'China's Apple', ahead of the fifth flash sale of its Mi 3 smartphone had confirmed on Monday that 20,000 units will be up for sale this time on Flipkart. The Chinese handset maker revealed the numbers on Twitter.

-- Mi India (@MiIndiaOfficial) August 18, 2014It's worth mentioning that Flipkart's Mi 3 flash sale procedure requires people to just add it to their cart for it to be classified as sold, and people are given additional time to complete their purchase.
Xiaomi has been facing a lot of criticism from Indian consumers due to the limited number of Mi 3 units in each flash sale, and the speed of the stock being purchased. Last week, in its fourth flash sale, the company claimed that it sold 20,000 Mi 3 units in 2.4 seconds. Like the previous occasions, this lead to a lot of frustrated buyers.

Xiaomi had confirmed that it sold 20,000 Mi 3 units in the first two flash sales on Flipkart. The company had claimed that the first batch of Mi 3 smartphones in India was sold out within 40 minutes of its availability. The second batch of Mi 3 handsets was sold out within 5 seconds.
The third flash sale saw 15,000 Mi 3 units going on sale, which the company hoped would change the situation; although that didn't turn out to the case. In the third flash sale, the Mi 3 just took two seconds to become 'sold out', a full three seconds less than the last time.
The Xiaomi Mi 3 runs a highly tweaked version of Android 4.4 KitKat, with MIUI version 5 on top. It comes with a 5-inch full-HD LCD display (1080x1920 pixels) offering a pixel density of 441ppi; a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8274AB) processor; 2GB of RAM; Adreno 330 GPU; 16GB of inbuilt storage; 13-megapixel rear camera; 2-megapixel camera, and 3050mAh battery.
