15,000 Huawei Honor Holly Units Go on Sale Thursday via Flipkart

Huawei has announced that 15,000 units of its Honor Holly smartphone will be available for sale starting Wednesday midnight on Flipkart, the company's exclusive online retail partner.

The Honor Holly smartphone, priced at Rs. 6,999, was recently launched alongside the budget Honor X1 tablet, which is priced at Rs. 19,999.

The Huawei Honor Holly smartphone is currently listed as 'out of stock' on Flipkart with the listing offering a 'Notify Me' option for interested consumers.

Commenting on the launch, Allen Wang, President, Consumer Business Group India, Huawei said, "This is an incredible success for Huawei and we are extremely delighted to reach this milestone. Honor Holly, after Honor 6 is the second device that has registered unbelievable sales in a short span of few days. We are glad to have partnered with Flipkart and happy to see such an encouraging response from customers nationally. Seeing unprecedented demand, we have managed to secure more quantity and 15,000 Holly smartphones will go on sale on Flipkart website tonight (Oct 29, midnight)."

The Honor Holly smartphone has been launched in a segment that is primarily dominated by three smartphones in India, namely the Motorola Moto E priced at Rs. 6,999; the Xiaomi Redmi 1S at Rs. 5,999, and Asus ZenFone 4 A400CG that comes at Rs. 5,999. Of course, there are also the Google-backed Android One smartphones that were recently launched in India - the Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V, and Spice Dream Uno - and priced starting Rs. 6,299.

Huawei, earlier this month, had claimed that it sold 10,000 units of its Honor 6 smartphone in India within 48 hours of its sale commencement on Flipkart, which the company said translated to about three to four phones being sold a minute, and over 200 phones an hour. The Huawei Honor 6, priced at Rs. 19,999, was also made available on the Big Billion Day sale on Flipkart which occurred on October 6.

The Huawei Honor Holly runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the company's new Emotion UI on top. It features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) LCD display offering a pixel density of 294ppi; 1.3GHz quad-core (unspecified chipset) processor; 1GB of RAM; dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support; 16GB of built-in storage, expandable storage support via microSD card (up to 32GB); 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and Samsung BSI sensor; 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2000mAh battery.
