Motorola Mobility was established in 2011 following the split of Motorola into two companies, with Motorola Solutions catering to the enterprise segment. Acquired soon after by Google, Motorola Mobility was sold to Lenovo in 2014. Motorola made its first Android smartphone in 2009, and its first Android tablet in 2011. Motorola's latest mobile launch is the Moto G42. The mobile was launched in 8th June 2022. The phone comes with a 6.40-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2400 pixels at a PPI of 409 pixels per inch.

The Motorola Moto G42 is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 1000GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Motorola Moto G42 packs a 50-megapixel (f/1.8, 0.64-micron) + 8-megapixel (f/2.2, 1.12-micron) + 2-megapixel (f/2.4, 1.75-micron) primary camera on the rear and a 16-megapixel (f/2.2, 1.0-micron) front shooter for selfies.

The Motorola Moto G42 runs Android 12 and is powered by a 5000mAh non removable battery. It measures 160.61 x 73.74 x 8.26 (height x width x thickness) and weigh 174.50 grams.

The Motorola Moto G42 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) mobile that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Fingerprint sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
