Moto X4 has been launched in India, positioned just below the Moto Z Play and Z2 Play smartphones. The new handset supports both Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa, though support for the latter is yet to be rolled out. Moto X4 price in India starts at Rs. 20,990, but with two variants released in the country, it is likely that buyers may opt for the higher-end variant. However, Oppo announced the 6GB RAM variant of the popular F3 Plus selfie phone in India, intensifying the competition. And after the recent bouts of price cuts, even the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) falls in the same price band. Moto X4 price in India is Rs. 20,990 for the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. You will have to shell out Rs. 22,990 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model of the new Moto phone. Oppo F3 Plus with 6GB RAM is priced at Rs. 22,990 too, and comes with free Hotstar Premium subscription for three months. The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is currently available for Rs. 20,990 on the official Samsung India e-store.

The Moto X4 sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920px) display and a body with Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and the back. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat smartphone has a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC, and supports microSD cards with capacities (up to 2TB). Its 3000mAh battery supports fast-charging and is said to deliver 6 hours of juice in 15 minutes of charge. The phone is IP68-certified as dust and water resistant, and has a fingerprint sensor integrated in the Home button.
One of the highlights of Moto X4 is the dual rear camera setup, featuring a 12-megapixel Dual Autofocus Pixel sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, and 1.4-micron pixels as well as an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor with a 120-degree field of view, an f/2.2 aperture, and 1.12-micron pixels. The camera comes with features like ultra-wide angle shot, professional mode, depth detection and depth effects, selective Focus, selective Black & White (beta), background replacement (beta), spot colour, landmark/object recognition, scan barcodes/QR codes/Business cards, panorama mode, slo-motion video, best shot, beautification, and filters. It bears a 16-megapixel camera on the front with an LED flash module.
On the other hand, the key feature of the Oppo F3 Plus (Review) is the 6GB of RAM, 2GB more than the original variant. The Android Marshmallow smartphone features a 6-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) and packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC. The Oppo phone sports a 16-megapixel primary camera sensor on the rear with an LED flash and a dual camera setup on the front with 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. It bears 64GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) with a dedicated slot. It packs a 4000mAh battery with Ultra-Fast VOOC Charging technology.
Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is an IP68-certified handset with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with full-HD resolution and Always-On functionality. The Android Nougat-based phone is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core Exynos 7880 chipset with 3GB RAM, and comes with 32GB internal storage and microSD storage support up to 256GB. Its 3600mAh battery supports fast-charging. The phone has 16-megapixel CMOS sensors with f/1.9 aperture on the front and back.
