Lenovo-owned Motorola on Thursday upgraded its widely popular Moto G series by bringing the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus. The new models are designed to expand the brand's presence in the mid-range market segment. Also, these handsets come with superior specifications to deliver an enhanced user experience over the last year's Moto G5 range that included Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G5S, and Moto G5S Plus. But interestingly, there are many similarities between the three Moto G6 models. This makes it difficult for customers to pick the best one for their requirements.

The Moto G6 price is set at $249 (approximately Rs. 16,500), while the Moto G6 Play will be available for purchase at $199 (around Rs. 13,000). The Moto G6 Plus, on the other hand, is priced at EUR 299 (roughly Rs. 24,350). All these smartphones are initially going on sale in Brazil and will debut in Mexico next week. The handsets will also be available in select countries in the Asia Pacific - including India - Europe, Latin America, and North America, in a couple of months.
The dual-SIM (Nano) Moto G6 runs stock Android 8.0 Oreo and features a 5.7-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) Max Vision IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the handset has a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC, coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB/ 4GB RAM options. It has a dual camera setup on the back with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. These sensors are accompanied by dual LED flash. On the front, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel sensor with a selfie flash.
Motorola has provided 32GB and 64GB of onboard storage options on the Moto G6 that both are expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity, and a fingerprint reader. Besides, the smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery, which supports TurboPower charging via a proprietary charger, and measures 153.8x72.3x8.3mm.
Similar to the Moto G6, the dual-SIM (Nano) Moto G6 Play runs stock Android 8.0 Oreo but features a 5.7-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) Max Vision IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 427 SoC, paired with Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB/ 3GB RAM options. For capturing images and recording videos, there is a single, 13-megapixel camera sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. An 8-megapixel camera sensor is available on the front, featuring an 80-degree lens that has an f/2.2 aperture.
The Moto G6 Play has 16GB and 32GB of inbuilt storage options that both are expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). For connectivity, there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone has an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, proximity, and a fingerprint reader. Lastly, it packs a 4000mAh battery and measures 155.4x72.2x9.1mm.
Unlike the 5.7-inch display options on the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play, the dual-SIM (Nano SIM) Moto G6 Plus sports a 5.9-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) Max Vision IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC that is coupled with 4GB and 6GB RAM options. On the imaging front, it has a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, alongside Dual Autofocus Pixel technology and an f/1.7 aperture. The smartphone also has an 8-megapixel camera sensor on the front.
For storing content, the Moto G6 Plus has 64GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). The smartphone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity light, and a fingerprint reader. At last, the smartphone packs a 3200mAh battery, supporting TurboPower charging technology, and measures 160x75.5x8.0mm.
