The first time we heard of LG's idea to move the G2's power and volume buttons to the rear, we thought it was ridiculous. When we actually tried using that phone ourselves, we found the placement awkward and frustrating. We just couldn't get used to not having a power button near our fingertips. It seemed just like any other gimmick - great for getting attention, but ultimately something that users would reject en masse.

LG G3 Beat Summary

This shrunken version of the flagship LG G3 smartphone has far more modest specifications than its namesake, and aims for a different market. Its most distinct features are the laser autofocus camera system and the buttons on the rear. It takes a while to get used to the button layout, and thankfully there are shortcuts you can use instead, such as double-tapping the screen to wake the phone at any point. We were happy to note the support for LTE data, and battery life was above average too. However, even the laser autofocus feature couldn’t make up for a very unimpressive camera.
