Good value for a durable Chromebook

Excellent value in a Chromebook. Built like tank, designed for the education market. Maybe a bit heavy given the screen size but again it is built for abuse or at least that is the claim. I am not likely to abuse like a school kid might but the value caught my eye and the ability to use a tablet is a nice plus. All the Android apps I have tried run fine, a few will only run in "phone" size or full screen but are still perfectly usable in the smaller size. Battery life seems excellent, have not tested it all that much but looks like it would easily last a full day with average use. I have not observed any issues with as many as 8 tabs open in Chrome so seems to have plenty of power. Very happy so far.

I purchased this Chromebook to replace both an aging iPad and an ancient Dell laptop. I used the iPad exclusively for media consumption and the laptop for web browsing and light office tasks. I wasn't sure that this device was going to competently replace both, but my concerns were unfounded.I've yet to overwhelm the little ARM processor that is at the heart of this device. I regularly have multiple browsers open while I listen to music and edit a document in Google Docs. The ability to run Android apps is a significant plus. The keyboard is unexpectedly good for a laptop this inexpensive; build quality overall is impressively good. The touch screen and track pad both work exceptionally well, and the screen looks beautiful.A full-sized SD card sticks out far enough to be a problem. I'd suggest picking up a low profile micro SD card adapter if you want extra storage. There are such products advertised to work with the Raspberry Pi and Macbook Air that fit.

Super Portable and Fun little Powerhouse.

This little device is a great multipurpose little computing device. With the ability to run Android apps (after downloading the latest Chromebook upgrades) I can fire off an email, check my social media, do my budget, or research something quickly. It features built in Chromecast support and am astounded at how well this processor handles streaming video and audio with multiple tabs open in the background and an Android App or two. I've spent money on mid-range well specced smartphones and I have a suped-up laptop with gobs of ram, multiple cores/huge CPU cache, with a SSD - however not every tasks calls for a thoroughly specced out development machine. It's so portable and versatile it fits right into that niche of comfortable performance for the everydays tasks.Mind you, the screen is a gorgeous high definition panel and the battery life is an incredible 10 Hours with long standby. Instant boot and shutdown make this entire package so convenient.
