Now, its been almost 3 months i am using this phone and now i can confidently say "This is The Best Phone" within Rs.20,000 range. Here are my scales 1 to 10. Looks - 10 Build Quality - 10 Performance /Speed - 10 Battery - 10 (Minimum 2 days backup with 2-3 hours of charging) Speaker Output /Sound - 10 Display /Video Play Back Quality - 10 Camera - 9 (if focused properly, then given very good photo). Call Quality - 10 Headphone (bundled) - 5 (But you could buy a better one from market). Go for it. Ive always been a Samsung user. Picked up this phone to break the cycle. Have been using it for 3 days now feedback as below: 1. Battery life is amazing. I used it for close to 40 hrs (approximately 6 hrs 3g) and I still had 5% left to let me go for another hour. 2. When I first charged my phone after the first complete cycle the battery charged a bit too fast and drained faster. I thought the phone was defective, but then its just one of lenovos tools that are available to correct the issue. A battery calibration, post running that the phone worked like a charm. The power tool installed on the phone gives you an amazing insight on the battery use and time available. 3. Refreshing UI - After getting bored of the Samsung touch wiz, Lenovo has come with some brilliant UI and animations. It has an inbuilt clean up app, a lotus widget and a magic weather widget. Most of the preinstalled games and apps (other than proprietary apps) are uninstallable, thereby reducing the bloatware factor.It has 6-7 inbuilt themes which are really cool. The phone has zero lag on the UI. It has Super gallery which is styled to display videos and photos in a windows 8 tablet format. 4. Camera: Rear 8mp : Pictures indoor are noisy, but when you switch to HDR mode it clears to give good pix. Front cam: The front cam is VGA so don't expect much. Good modes and zero lag between pictures getting clicked 5. The 8gb version of the phone gives the user 2.21 gb for apps and 2.8gb as built in storage apart from 32 gb expandable storage. 6. Though the phone is not unibody the battery cannot be removed, however Lenovo has provided a rest button to use in the phone in case it hangs. 7. Looks: Absolutely brilliant. Full metal back cover which acts as radiator and keeps the phone cool at all times. The phone though heavy is very easy to grip in one hand and use with ease. For phone with such a big battery the weight and thickness are not comparable, its pretty slim. The HD dispay complements the phones looks. 8. Gaming: Candy crush, subway surfers, temple run work perfect with no lag, however its not a device meant for 3d games. 9. Built in google keyboard with the slide feature. Gesture support is available on the phone. eg you raise the phone to the ear and it auto answers, when the phone rings it you lift the phone the volume of the ringtone decreases etc. 10. Sound Quality: The speakers are placed in such a manner even if place the phone on the back and listen to music/ watch movies there is no distortion or muffling of the sound. Crystal clear!. 11. Call quality - the noise cancellation mics on the phone are brilliant!! Crystal clear sound with no disturbance. Truly one of the clearest phones. Overall im extremely happy with the phone. Yes if the front cam was 2 mp and the ram was 2gb it would have been an even more awesome phone, but for now this is the phone to buy if your budget is 18K. I was thinking about the canvas, however trusted the Lenovo brand over it and am really happy about the same. Cheers!

One word,Just go for it. You can get the same hardware phone from micromax but its worth the the exta price for its awesome display and epic battery. If you are not a heavy gamer this configuration is more than enough for day to day needs. I mean whats the point of better hardware than this if the battery backup of other phones does not even last a whole day and also costs more. But the internal memory shows available space of 2.8GB even if its 8gb model.

I bought this product and I am using it since last one week. It is damn good. It's battery life is just amazing. It runs around 4 days(even I am using more due to initial period). It has almost comparable features with other good products like Samsung S3 and at incomparable price. It is a value for money product. Go get it.

I am using this phone for 1-2 weeks. I have bought many products from Flipkart as its very easy and convenient to shop. But I am writing review for the first time as its an awesome product I got. Before buying this product I was searching good samsung phone as I was used to use that. Suddenly this one caught my eyes. The main attraction was the battery life, CPU & GPU. Battery is the best one currently at the market. I use the phone at it's fullest. Still I dnt have to charge it ofter. It runs more that 2 days without charging for me. even if I play games on mobile. secondly the CPU & GPU are almost same powerful as Galaxy S4 at a price of 18K only. Ram is quite good (1 GB) ... some people saya it would be better if it was 2GB. But I didn't feel the need yet. I never saw any lag in this phone soo far. And how much more can you expect when you are getting soo much for soo less price. The image quality is quite good (294 ppi). Screen is a bit large ( 5 inch) initially was having problem to hold, But it it fits perfectly to my hand :) Though I wasn't looking for a good camera in phone as I prefer to rely on normal cameras to take pictures, But the cam in this device gives quite nice photo. Only thing it I didn't find much accessories for this phone in the local market as its very new model. Last day I bought a screen guard from Flipkart only and I am waiting to a flip cover to find in the market. If your budget is 20K or even 25K I would suggest you to buy this one. I have no idea about phones beyond 25K ...

I ordered the mobile on 18th Oct morning and got it on 19th Oct evening (within 33 hours) . Really outstanding logistics team and great indeed for such a prompt and fast delivery of the product. The phone got most of the best featurs of top end smart phones mobiles with the reasonable mid segment price. Amazing battery life, great features and good smart phone worth buying. The battery is non removable which is a negative aspect and presently flip cover is not available in the market as well as flipkart.

This phone is awesome with its super solid Battery backup. Unmatched. Excellent feature to use as a power bank to charge other mobiles. Excellent display and a good camera. A little heavy(but that's because of the humongous batter backup), but one can compromise over it. Good speed and OK looks. Excellent offer from Flipkart and Standard Chartered Credit Cards. recently ordered lenovo p780 (8GB) on Oct/11 through flipkart and received it next day, nice features...did not face any problem until now...

the phone full filled all requirments of smart phone. simply it is one of best phone in smart phone series.

Awesome mobile with nice specs and Monster battery. Pros: Quad core, Nice camera, 5 inch HD LCD screen, lenovo UI Cons: Not found yet.

Full Value for money... Battery lasted more than 72 hours with about 700 MB data.....No Regrets yet.....Getting flip covers / back covers is difficult.

Ordered the Lenovo P780 8GB model after lots of deliberation. Fantastic delivery from Flipkart. Delivery in flat 2 days. Pros a)The phone works like a charm. No lag. b) Call voice quality is excellent. There are no call drops. c) Battery is humungous. d) Display is sharp. e) The fit and finish of the phone is very good f) 8MP Camera takes decent pics. Cons : a) No gorilla glass. In a quasi premium professional phone i expected better glass durability. b) Lack of decent cases. The lenovo smartphone ecosystem is not yet evolved. My verdict : At this price an unbeatable buy. Only concern is after sales service vide HCL. . .

I ordered on 24th of this month and it was delivered on 25th. As of now, the phone looks really good, little bit heavy as others said but thats absolutely ok to enjoy the battery life of this phone. Am extremely happy with the phone as of now. Photos taken are decent enough. Sound clarity is good. Call clarity is very good. Themes in the phone are really brilliant.I loved the Brick theme. Processor is good enough. What else I can say. Will post another review after using this phone for another few days. Don't hesitate to buy this phone. Lenovo is the best brand to try!

First of all, Excellent Delivery by Flipkart. Ordered the phone on 24th afternoon and got it delivered on 25th evening. and the best price too. Now, coming to the product. Using it for a day now, so its quite early to write a review.. However would share some observations. 1. Battery - Its a BEAST (Box packed came 60% charged, did all the initital configuration and its still 9%) 2. Display/UI - Nice 3. Hardware - Solid So basically, if you are not too brand conscious, This is a perfect buy in 17K. i would anyday recommend Lenovo instead of Micromax/intex and other brands.

Ordered on FlipKart Friday evening and it was delivered on Sunday! WOW! That is what is pure customer delight. Now on to the phone. I have been using SGG for the past 8+ months and it is mostly fine except for the battery life - I am a heavy user with 4 push email accounts, WhatsApp, Viber, Tango, Skype etc. and dual SIM when I am travelling international. Initially I was a little skeptical about the P780 as it is Tri Band and not Quad Band like SGG. However the lack of the 850 band is not a problem in Asia Pacific and Europe - may be a slight challenge when roaming in the USA. In any case I have put the phone through it's paces over the past one week in India and abroad and it has done extremely well. The battery life, with my heavy usage, easily crosses 24 hours with 2 SIMs. All apps and games work perfectly. There is a very slight lag on the home screen once in a while, but much less than the SGG. - I have 122 applications loaded on the phone so that is quite a bit for a mid range device. - Screen is sharp and easy to read and the touch is responsive too. - Call volume on the ear piece is a little low - compared to SGG but the speaker is fine. - Charging from empty to full takes about 3 hours which is quite fast for the battery capacity On the cons, the ear piece audio could be a little louder - the SGG wins. The Camera is not as good as the SGG. All in all a great phone for the price.

Boy, what a phone! People suggested Grand quattro or Xperia C over this when I was looking to buy a smartphone in this category. But, I went ahead and purchased this because of various reasons! I never got a chance to see or use the device before I bought it and thus, had just "above average" expectations. But, I just got blown away when it got delivered! >Amazing feel and build quality compared to the quattro or xperia C.. >The IPS LCD display is wonderful! The camera is VERY impressive (considering my expectations weren't that high). >The 1GB of RAM is adequate.. (Enough for all SNS apps, a few games and some more of whatever you wanna load it up with). I never really found the 8GB of on-board memory that was advertised but, it doesn't really make much of a difference if you have a HC-UHS memory card. >The video recording, playback and quality of other graphics is flawless.. >And, I saved up the best for the last... WHAT A BATTERY!!! Un-f '-believable!!! The hell did they make that thing out of?!?! Used a fully charged battery for 3 whole days on dual-sim and it still has 45% left!! It is user-replaceable... But, you are not supposed to remove it, though (The warranty goes void if you try to).

I got this product on 29/10/13, all was well and I loaded a few apps. Everything was going fine until I used the wi-fi to download the Asphalt 7 (pre-loaded app) game data. I had used wi-fi before for normal app downloads and miscellaneous activity but while downloading the data for this game (which is over 500MB), the phone started to heat up. I turned off the wi-fi but still the phone continued to be hot. So, I decided to restart the phone. Before restarting the battery left was around 66% but after the restart it showed 8%. I knew something was wrong and switched it off for a while. After about 2 hours, the phone cooled down and I tried to switch it on. But it never responded. So, I tried to charge it. After trying for about 20 times by connecting and disconnecting the charger cable, the phone finally responded to the connected charger. I left it and kept monitoring it every ten minutes to check if it heats up again. After about 25% of charging, the phone started to heat up again. By about 49% it was very warm. Later when I checked it, the phone was so hot that I couldn't touch it. Fearing that it might explode, I disconnected the charger and kept it under the fan for a long time. Again after about 2hrs, it cooled down. Next, the phone never came to life. It was not charging nor was it switching on. I called the flipkart customer care and they promptly offered to replace it. I got the replacement piece on 05/11/13. I am continuing to test the new piece. If there is some issue, I will post it here. Even otherwise, will update after about a month. Overall, the phone is wonderful. But the overheating incident has made me give it 3 stars. Will change it if it doesn't repeat on the new piece. And I cannot sign off without praising flipkart for their prompt delivery and wonderful customer care. Thank you guys. You make shopping easy. I am changing the phone rating to 5 star. I have used it now for over a month and it works fine. Battery is good and the performance is brilliant. After using the mobile continuously for a while, you will have to clear the RAM using the Cleaner App that Lenovo has already provided. Usually it shows the RAM usage to be around 80% after heavy use and once you run the cleaner, it brings it down to around 50%. Overall, I am satisfied with my choice of mobile and also on choosing Flipkart.

It is very nice phone. But I am not satisfied with some features listed in below. Positive: Long battery backup. Touch sensitive Slim and metallic body. some Features are awesome. Negative: Only one SIM support 3G network (2nd one only 2G). you can not find mobile accessories(Screen guard,case cover etc). Non Removable battery.

This looks brilliant, feels solid and runs like a horse. If you're looking for a workhorse in under 20k, this is where the search ends. I don't use my phone for graphics-heavy apps, so it has never given me a problem. A few points: 1. I am able to get a good 30 hr battery backup with Wifi on for more then 26 hrs, the bluetooth headset connected the whole time as well as 2G data on the whole time. Man, thats a lot. 2. The display is amazingly crisp and bright. 3. The brushed metal finish makes the phone look awesome, classy. Also, makes it very sturdy. I've actually dropped it twice, there is not 1 scratch. I am impressed. 4. The screen is not Corning glass, so it needs protection. A flipcover or a case is not easily available, nor is a screenguard. I actually had to order a flipcase from the US. All in all, this phone made a lot of sense before buying it, it makes a lot of sense now that I've bought it. It's aptly named the 'Professional' series.

So I am a hardcore android junkie. I keep doing a lot of custom mods on my phones and tabs ranging from MIUI ports to Cyanogenmods. This is my submission post a little testing and I will follow up with a detailed review a little later. Positives: First feel - Its a stupendous masterpiece! I mean... here's a phone below 18K all in that looks the looks, walks the walk and talks the talk! Its every so classy as far as build asthetics are concerned and moreover, the phone is raging to perform miracles from the word "Go"! The software is one of the most "error free" and "jam free" operations I have witnessed in a while. and the GUI... Lenovo - Take a bow... the amount of customizations done by Lenovo coupled with understanding the customers and pre-loading custom apps onto the device are a Phone lover's Dream come true! The display is superb ! 720P and the camera works like a charm as well!!!! All this with a 40+ hour talk time... Negatives: There are only 2 aspects I can think of and I am sure others will have the same gripe. a) Screen guard : I visited 3 stores and found none of them having the screen guard... Lenovo should have provided a screen guard along with the phone. b) GPRS connectivity : As this is made in China - One has to call the telecom providers and get the configuration done manually which usually means that one has to arrange for another phone and work on configuring this one. Wishlist: not a negative but a Wishlist - Interchangable skins/ mobile covers i.e. anti slip covers etc... would have been a great boon but not necessary. Screen guard on the other hand... Very Very necessary as it doesnt sport something like a Gorilla Glass or other Protective screen surfaces... all in all : I love this one.... I am due to buy another phone for my wife and I know for a fact... its going to be another lenovo... not just for my significant other but for the rest of my kith and kin who are on a lookout for a decent mobile with a good performance!

This is a good phone. Apps run smooth with minimal lags. Call clarity is excellent. Out of 8 GB, user available memory is around 4 GB. You will see only 4 GB as that is what is meant for you. Those people who are calling it sub standard, untested and blah blah blah its a sincere request to them: Kindly stop copy pasting reviews from GSM Arena. Some dweeb has a bad experience with a particular unit which is not even a Lenovo P780 but some entry level Lenovo phone, most probably due to his own ill handling of the device and he is out to blast the whole product range. Illogical and irrational. The 4000 Mah battery will give you ample power backup for at least two days. As an add on feature it can charge other phones as well. The design is sleek and looks are truly of an elite business class device. Unfortunately the price was reviewed hence it shot back up to 18 k plus. Talking of dual sim units it beats Samsung Galaxy Grand hands down. Be it the screen, battery or UI. If you are seeking a dual sim unit this is the one which offers the best value for money. The other dual sim device in the market Sony Xperia C is clearly overpriced. Wait for prices to come down if Sony is your ultimate choice. To compete with P780, Sony will have to revise its prices. Micromax, well i had considered it as an alternative to P780 before going ahead with my purchase but considering Canvas's dual sims and only 2000 mah battery power its going to be dead in half a day or so. Dual sims consume more battery than single sims. So a 4000 mah battery is a well thought move by Lenovo. Rest Lenovo's reputation as a laptop/PC manufacturer is without any question "impeccable". So i wont be comparing Micromax with Lenovo as regards industry reputation. Lenovo diversifying its business into smartphones augurs well for Indian smartphone market. Yes they are new to this segment but the technology and price at which these smartphones are being offered is simply worth it. And yes i have not been paid by Lenovo to write this review. :D I was astonished reading the utter crap which is being posted by misinformed guys against this particular model. For their information i am very happy with my purchase and my device is performing brilliantly.

This is one os the best phone available at cheaper rate. Battery life is unexpextdly good. Phone is very very impressive. Phone sound is cool. OTG cable function is outstanding . go for it!!!

most of d ppl here will buy dis fone since it provides an excellent battery back-up n can charge phones too, bt dis is something I want you ppl to know. do read dis clipping -- On performance front, the Lenovo P780 scored 13,575 in Antutu benchmark. This in simpler words puts it at the toes of the older HTC One X in terms of performance while Quadrant benchmarking utility ranks the Lenovo P780 above the HTC One X. To further stress test the hardware we tested the device using Vellamo from Qulacomm in which the device neared Samsung Galaxy Note with 413 points in Metal or hardware test while scoring 1443 point in the HTML 5 test on which most web application work these days. Overall the device offers ample performance but the internal memory of 4 GB is a big turn off as we weren't able to install HD games on it as only 2.4 GB is available. if you can buy a phone dt costs you 19K, y nt spend 2000INR more fr a good class 10 16GB memory card?

One of the best smartphone I have used in the recent past (Samsung, Nokia Lumia). What is great 1. Battery 2. Memory cleaner 3. Themes Not so great experiences Nokia Maps in Lumia are definitely better I think they are more feature rich than the one in these phones and more responsive Office apps in Lumia are a better experience Pictures and Videos (just an average experience on Lenovo) But, for the price that I paid this is an amazing phone better than any of the Samsung and Lumia that I was using earlier

ok..firstly i wont comment on the other problems faced by users.. i just wanna write about the battery. This phone has a Li-polymer( LIPO) and not a li-ion( LION) battery as opposed to the norm. The Li-polymer is more technologically advanced. But thats the problem. The technology is very new and not widely used yet. Also LIPO has ability to hold more charge for same size of battery as compared to LION. Hence Lenovo has manged to squeeze 4000 mah into this. But early results show that the LIPO battery has a shorter life. So you could be looking at frequent and costly replacements.! SO that is one point to be kept in mind.

1-good display 2-i hv used this phone for 4 days without charging 3-smart and sleek 4-lowest price on flipkart 5-the only thing that i didn't like is battery not removable.

Hi all. I am a doctor with a reasonably good practice. I get around 100 calls a day from hospitals and patients. I make around 50 calls a day. And also I need to have email reception full time for official purposes. I initially had iphone 4 and then samsung galaxy. Both phones were having wonderful features, but by evening the batteries wound run out and I would have to charge otherwise, the phones would shut off. Then I bought this phone after reading all the reviews. Now it has been over a week. I am very satisfied with the phone. Even with very heavy usage, at 11 pm, battery would be 60% to 70% left. This is with streaming net and email, GPS on, bluetooth on full time connected to bluetooth headset and with lots of phone calls. I am extremely happy with the phone.
