Within four days of the launch of Windows 8 last week, there have been four million downloads globally which is "clearly indicative of adoption rate", Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd Chairman Bhaskar Pramanik said.
"Response in India is equally overwhelming not just in terms of downloads but in terms of foot-falls we have seen in all our stores, all across the country", he said, at the launch road-show here. "From India, we have built a huge number of applications".
He referred to last month's AppFest where developers built, designed and tested apps for the Windows platform.
"They created nearly 700 apps, of which 300 are in the process of getting into the Windows Store as we talk. Some are already in the Store; some are getting in," Pramanik told reporters.
