The laptop range is selling starting from JPY 66,800 (roughly Rs. 43,000) in Sony stores from Tuesday, with the base model packing a 15.5-inch HD (1366x768 pixel) display that goes along with an Intel Celeron 3215U processor and 4GB of RAM. The regular stores will sell the laptops for JPY 94,800 (roughly Rs. 61,000), The Verge reports.
There is an option to upgrade the laptops to the models with a full-HD display tagged along with 8GB of RAM, however the pricing for the upgrade models has not been specified by the company.
If we talk specifically about the specifications and performance, there is no denying the fact that C15 range of laptops falls flat and does not fare well against other laptops available in this price window.
However, the company is not advertising its hardware for sale anyway. The company is targeting those customers who are willing to pay the premium price for laptops that are likely to stand out from the crowd due to their distinctive designs.
The Vaio C15 laptops are available in various colour combinations like Yellow and Black, White and Copper, Orange and Khaki, and Navy and Grey.
