Samsung launched two new ultrabooks and one all-in-one PC under its Ativ brand of Windows 8 powered devices at the Samsung Premiere event in London on Thursday.
Samsung's upgraded notebooks include the Ativ Book 9 Plus which is the successor to Samsung's Ativ Book 9 notebook. The Ativ Book 9 features an aluminium, uni-body design and includes a Windows 8 optimised touchscreen. Powered by an Intel 4th generation core processor (choice of i5/ i7), the laptop features a 13.3-inch QHD+ 3200x1800 pixels display and offers 12 hours of battery life. The laptop is configurable to support up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB SSD internal storage. Samsung claims that the Book 9 Plus boots in less than six seconds and wakes up from sleep in under one second. It also comes with Samsung's SideSync technology, which makes it easy to share content between the Book 9 Plus and a user's Galaxy smartphone.
Samsung has also launched an economy version of the Book 9 Plus, called the Ativ Book 9 Lite. It features a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels and an optional touch screen panel. The Book 9 Lite sports the same premium design identity as the Book 9 though it's a little heavier and larger. It comes with a quad-core processor of up to 1.4GHz and 256GB SSD internal storage. The notebook comes with 4GB of RAM.
Besides the two notebooks, Samsung has also launched the Ativ One 5 Style all-in-one PC that comes with a 21.5-inch full-HD touchscreen (1920x1080 pixels). It's powered by an AMD A6 quad-core processor, and comes with 4GB of RAM and up to 1TB hard disk drive for storage. It is the first all-in-one PC under the Ativ brand.
There are no details available yet on the pricing or availability of any of the machines.
