Apple has quietly bumped up the specs of its MacBook Air range of laptops, while announcing price cuts for all models.
All MacBook Air variants are now powered by 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, compared to the 1.3GHz processor of the same family in the predecessors. All other specifications appear to be the same, in line with earlier reports.
While the price cuts offered in the US are $100 (approximately Rs. 6,000) on each of the models, the prices in India have been slashed by Rs. 2,000 for each variant.
The new prices of MacBook Air laptops in India are Rs. 65,900 for the 11-inch variant with 128GB storage (earlier Rs. 67,900), Rs. 79,900 for the 11-inch variant with 256GB storage (earlier Rs. 81,900), Rs. 72,900 for the 13-inch variant with 128GB storage (earlier Rs. 74,900), and Rs. 86,900 for the 13-inch variant with 256GB storage (earlier Rs. 88,900).
All models are now powered by 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache, alongside 4GB RAM, and boast dual-microphones and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Two USB 3.0 ports and 1 Thunderbolt port are included in all variants, with the 13-inch MacBook Airs also coming with a SDXC card slot.
