The rumoured new 21.5-inch 4K display iMac is coming next week, according to a new report. Apple apparently has plans to launch it with availability beginning as soon as October 13.

Last month, a code string inside an OS X El Capitan beta build suggested that the company plans to launch soon a new iMac with 21.5-inch display sporting a 4K resolution. As per a recent 9to5Mac report, that all-in-one PC is coming as early as October 13.

Customers have been waiting for a high-quality 4K display in smaller iMac form factor for a long time. The 21.5-inch iMac is among the only few Apple computers such as the MacBook Air that doesn't have a Retina display. The existing 21.5-inch iMac hasn't received a refresh since September 2013. The company had launched the 27-inch Retina 5K display iMac in October last year.

Alongside the 4K display, which may be branded the Retina 4k display, the 21.5-inch iMac could also come with an Intel Broadwell chipset and an improved graphics card, according to earlier reports. The outside shell of the iMac is unlikely to look different. And of course, it will sport a higher price point.

The report also claims that Apple is working on the Magic Mouse 2, which will come with Force Touch integration and a new Bluetooth keyboard with improved battery life. At this point, it is unclear whether these improvements will make it to the 21.5-inch 4K display iMac.

The report also claims that the iPad Pro will begin shipping in early November. Unveiled at Apple's mega iPhone event last month, the company hadn't announced the launch time-frame for its new tablet.
