American electronics manufacturer HP on Tuesday announced the launch of two new gaming laptops in India - the HP Pavilion 15 and HP Omen 15. While the former is targeted towards mainstream, budget gamers, the Omen 15 has been launched for a premium, high-end gaming audience. In March this year, HP had launched the HP Omen X gaming portfolio and mixed reality headset in India. Apart from these two laptops, HP India has on Tuesday also announced new premium PC gaming accessories including keyboards and mouses in the HP Omen series. The laptops run Windows 10 out-of-the-box.
HP Pavilion 15 has been priced in India starting at Rs. 74,990, while the HP Omen 15 gets a starting price tag of Rs. 1,05,990. These are available in the country across HP offline and online partners.
The company has also unveiled certain gaming accessories in the Omen series. These include the Omen by HP Sequencer keyboard priced at Rs. 10,999, the Omen by HP Reactor mouse priced at Rs. 3,499, and the Omen by HP Transceptor backpack with a price tag of Rs. 11,999. These accessories will be available in India from August 2018. However, the Omen by HP Mouse 600 and Mouse 800 are available now at a price of Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 6,999, respectively.
HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop
The HP Pavilion 15 sports a 15.6-inch full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) backlit widescreen IPS panel with an 16:9 aspect ratio, 220 nits brightness, and pixel density of 144ppi. It is powered by 8th Intel Core processors, with options starting from a Core i5-8300H up to a Core i7-8750H - with a base frequency of 2.3GHz. The processors are integrated with graphics up to a dedicated 4GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti. It also has Intel's UHD Graphics 630 built in.
There is 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM, and the laptop range gets a 1TB HDD clocked at 7200RPM. The top two models also get a 128GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. Connectivity ports on the gaming laptop consist of 1 USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1, 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1 headphone jack, 1 RJ-45, and an HDMI v2.0. Dimensions of the HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop are 366x256.5x25.4mm and weight is 2.2kg. It has a 52.5Whr battery call with support for fast charge. Bang and Olufsen manages the audio on the HP Pavilion 15.
HP Omen 15 gaming laptop
The high-end HP Omen 15 comes powered by an 8th-gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor with a 2.2GHz base frequency. It clocks to 4.1GHz with Intel Turbo Boost technology. It sports a 15.6-inch UHD IPS anti-glare panel with a brightness of 300 nits and refresh rate of 144Hz. Graphics on the machine comprise options between an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti, GeForce GTX 1060, and a GeForce GTX 1070. It has options of 8GB and 16GB DDR4 RAM upgradable up to 32GB. As for storage, the Omen 15 comes with a 1TB HDD clocked at 7200RPM and a 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD.
In terms of connectivity, the HP Omen 15 gaming laptop gets three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C, one Mini DisplayPort, one headphone jack, an RJ-45 port, and one HDMI v2.0 port. It supports Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, MU-MIMO, and is Miracast certified. The HP Omen 15 measures 359.9x262.9x24.9mm and weighs 2.38kg.
