HP has launched its budget-friendly HP 15 notebooks and performance-oriented HP Pavilion 15 TouchSmart notebooks in India. The notebooks expand HP's existing product lineup and provide new options ant multiple price points. The HP 15 model is priced at Rs. 28,990 whereas the HP Pavilion 15 TouchSmart model is priced at Rs. 49,990.
The HP 15 will target budget-minded buyers, and will offer reliability and performance. The notebook has a glossy black body and is powered by an Intel Pentium N3510 processor with integrated HD graphics, 2GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and a HD webcam. It comes with the 64-bit edition of Microsoft Windows 8.1.
The HP 15 also has a full-sized keyboard with numeric keypad, and weighs 2.5kg. It comes with a one-year next business day onsite warranty.
HP describes the Pavilion 15 series as sleek, stylish and lightweight. The model is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Core i5-4200U processor, Nvidia GeForce GT 740M mobile GPU, and 4GB of RAM. It comes with a 1TB hard drive and runs Windows 8.1.
HP announced the devices at an event in New Delhi along with the high-end 17-inch HP Envy 17 Leap Motion Special Edition notebook, which features built in gesture-based input recognition. HP also formally launched its HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and HP Slate 7 VoiceTab tablets with voice calling. Bollywood celebrity Deepika Padukone was present as HP's new brand ambassador.
