The new offerings announced include access devices like routers and port switches, client virtualisation solutions and business protection solutions including servers, network security and disaster recovery.
With organisations allowing employees to use their personal devices like smartphones and tablet PCs for official use, there is a need to access, manage and secure the data generated by them.
"HP converged infrastructure provides the ideal platform for secure continuous access to data and applications," HP Country Manager (Networking) Prakash Krishnamoorthy told reporters here.
He said with growing acceptance of BYOD (bring your own device) by organisations, the "wired world has shifted into a combination of wired and wireless."
Krishnamoorthy said the SMB market in India is worth USD 18 billion and the company is expecting a growth rate of 100 per cent for its various products.
According to a research by Gartner, by 2016, around 50 per cent of business email users will rely primarily on a tablet PC or mobile phone instead of a traditional desktop.
The HP virtual desktop solution enables SMBs to provide secure access to applications from laptops, tablets and smartphones. Even if the device is lost, the information remains protected on the server.
