Besides print, copy, scan and fax capabilities, the printer comes the latest mobile printing technologies including HP wireless direct, HP ePrint and Apple's AirPrint. A unique feature of the all-in-one is an inbuilt wireless hotspot that allows seamless, full Internet connectivity for up to eight users. In other words, the HP M1218nfs can replace your Wi-Fi router, as long as the total number of devices (computers/ smartphones/ tablets) that need to be connected does not exceed eight (most routers have a much higher limit).
Thanks to AirPrint, iOS users can print to the HP Hotspot LaserJet Pro M1218nfs MFP straight from their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Speaking on the launch of the HP Hotspot LaserJet Pro M1218nfs MFP, Nitin Hiranandani, Director-Printing, PPS, HP India, said, "The HP Hotspot is a new all-in-one+1 printer that completely redefines the role a multifunction printer can play in a SOHO or small business environment. We are confident that users will deeply appreciate the ability to print, scan, copy, fax and access Internet wirelessly, all through a single device that is incredibly easy to set up and use."
The HP Hotspot LaserJet Pro M1218nfs MFP comes with a host of connectivity options including one Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port, one 10/100Base-T Ethernet network port, RJ-11 Telephone port, Wireless 802.11b/g/n (with hotspot), HP wireless direct, HP ePrint and Apple AirPrint. Unfortunately, it does not feature a memory card reader like some of its counterparts.
The printer supports paper sizes up to A$ and is capable of printing up to 18 pages per minute, with the first page out in 8.5 seconds. Like most other all-in-ones, this unit features a flat-bed as well as Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) scanner.
"At HP, we believe in constantly reinventing the printer and today's launch of HP Hotspot marks an important milestone in our innovation legacy," Mr. Hiranandani added.
The HP Hotspot LaserJet Pro M1218nfs MFP is available across the country starting Tuesday for Rs. 18,306.
