In our weekly look at the world of crowdfunding, we explore sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to find interesting projects for you to back. That's because some of the most interesting new products we've seen, ranging from fun oddities to what could conceivably be the next big thing, have come from these sites instead of big companies.

Not every project we highlight has to be the next Oculus Rift virtual reality headset or Pebble smartwatch - some of the projects we pick are just fun and weird. And of course, there is always the chance that a project will not work out even if it gets funded. But if you're willing to take a risk and can afford to write off a little money, then there's a lot to look at and maybe fund.

This week, we found the Flow. It is a computer accessory that features a small touchpad for drawing and other interactions, a dial for precise interactions and gesture recognition so you can do things like scroll through a page by waving your hand over the device. Looking like a small dial, the wireless controller also includes dedicated, programmable shortcuts, and although it's been designed primarily for graphics work with a computer, it is compatible with all Bluetooth low-energy devices.

You can see it in action in the video below:

The Flow campaign will continue till January 3, and it has already doubled its funding goal of $50,000 (approximately Rs. 30,94,250). If you back the Flow now, you can get one for $99 (approximately Rs. 6,126) (plus $20, or around Rs. 1,237, for international shipping), with an estimated delivery in July 2015.
