Dell Launches New Range of Latitude Laptops in India

Dell on Wednesday took the wraps off its range of Windows 10 Pro-running Latitude laptops and 2-in-1 devices in India starting from Rs. 44,999. While the highlight of the launch event were the Dell Latitude 13 (7370) Ultrabook and the Latitude 12 (7270) detachable notebook, the company also showcased its revamped Latitude 3000 and Latitude 5000 series.

The Dell Latitude 13 (7370) 7000 Series Ultrabook (seen above), the company claims, is the world's smallest 13-inch business class Ultrabook and is mainly for on-the-go users. The USP of the laptop is its 13.3-inch Infinity Edge display, which we first saw with the company's XPS line of laptops. It will be available in full-HD resolution non-touch and QHD+ resolution Touch display variants.

Besides the ultrathin display, the laptop's outer shell is built using 40ton carbon fiber making it durable. Some of the connectivity features carried by the Latitude 13 7370 include USB Type-C ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB 3.0 with support for Thunderbolt 3, 4G LTE support, microSD card reader, and Micr-SIM card slot. As for the security, users get a smartcard reader, fingerprint reader, and RFID reader, apart from security and encryption software.

The laptop can be customised with up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM, sixth generation Intel Core m7, and up to 512GB SED SSD storage. Also included is a HD video webcam. The Latitude 13 (7370) will be available starting April and will come with a starting price of Rs. 79,999.

The Dell Latitude 12 (7275) 7000 Series 2-in-1 (seen above) is claimed by Dell as the lightest 12.5-inch 2-in-1 device. Since the device sports a 2-in-1 design, it uses a magnetic latch to lock both the keyboard and the tablet together instead of using latches and alignment pins. It comes with two keyboard options. While the Dell Latitude 12 Slim Keyboard is a full-size backlit keyboard, the Dell Latitude 12 Premium keyboard is lightweight, has backlit functionality and additionally includes mouse cursor control along with a gesture touchpad.

The Latitude 12 (7275)'s 12.5-inch display comes in full-HD touch and UHD Touch variants and are 8mm thin with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT protection. It features a magnesium unibody build. It also comes in Intel Core m3, Core m5, and Core m7 processor options and can take up to 8GB of RAM. Also featured are an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It will be hitting the shelves this month starting at Rs. 87,999.

Dell says the Latitude 11 (5175) 5000 series (seen above) is already up for grabs starting at Rs. 59,999. The 2-in-1 device features 10.8-inch full-HD touch display with corning Gorilla Glass protection. It can be customised with sixth Generation Intel Core m3 or Core m5 processors and with up to 8GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM. The Latitude 11 5175 device can take up to 512GB SSD SATA storage, features 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. As for connectivity, the device sports a USB 3.0 port, Type-A Micro-USB 3.0, Micro-HDMI, SD memory card reader, and SIM card slot. In the wireless connectivity department, the device houses Wi-Fi, Miracast, NFC, 4G LTE support, and Bluetooth v4.1.

The company at the event also put on display its Latitude E5570, Latitude E5470, and Latitude E3470 laptops and notebooks among others. Two monitors namely Dell UltraSharp 27 Monitor UP2716D and the Dell UltraSharp 27 Ultra HD 5K UP2715K were also showcased. All the laptops are compatible with Dell Dock (seen below) and Dell Thunderbolt Dock accessories. Dell says its ProSupport Plus support service also covers the aforementioned Latitude range of laptops.
