If you thought the
Transformer AiO was the only hybrid product the company launched at CES 2013, think again. Asus also unveiled the Transformer Book, a fully featured notebook with a detachable tablet and the VivoTab Smart, that comes with a TransSleeve keyboard.
The Asus Transformer Book This Windows 8-based machine is ultraportable that combines the functionality of a tablet and a notebook, thanks to its dockable design.
The ASUS Transformer Book features a 13.3-inch full-HD multi-touch IPS display. It packs in 3rd generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors and offers 128GB SSD storage.
The Transformer Book connects to its bundled dock to become a fully featured notebook with a backlit keyboard, touchpad and a separate hard drive with up to 500GB capacity. The dock also features its own battery for extended mobile use and an array of ports, including USB 3.0.
Asus VivoTab SmartThe VivoTab Smart is a Windows 8 tablet with a 10.1-inch IPS display with a 1366x768 pixel resolution. The device houses an 8-megapixel rear shooter with 5-element lens, large F/2.2 aperture & back-illuminated CMOS sensor. There's a 2-megapixel front camera as well.
The machine is powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 dual-core processor and features 5-point multitouch technology.
Users can also opt for a TranSleeve Keyboard featuring a combined cover and stand with wireless keyboard that will be available in 4 colours.
The VivoTab Smart comes with various applications like SuperNote, Guide, Vibe Lite, ASUS Camera, MyLibrary, MyDictionary, Asus WebStorage, Amazon Kindle.
Asus claims the device lasts 9.5 hours on a single charge. Connectivity options include NFC, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.
The company is yet to announce details regarding pricing and availability for both these devices. (
