Tim Cook is now on stage recapping Apple's product launches in 2016.

2016-10-27T23:52:00+0530

The MacBook Pro 13 with function keys starts shipping today, and the other two start shipping in 2-3 weeks.

2016-10-27T23:52:00+0530

MacBook Pro 13 with function keys - $1,499MacBook Pro 13 with Touch Bar - $1,799MacBook Pro 15 with Touch Bar - $2,399

2016-10-27T23:50:00+0530

All laptops have sixth-generation Intel Core processors, at least 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD.

2016-10-27T23:49:00+0530

The 13 MacBook Pro is actually smaller than the 13 MacBook Air.

2016-10-27T23:48:00+0530

A model of the 13 MacBook Pro with traditional function keys, and two Thunderbolt ports will also be available. The new MacBook Pro is 12% thinner than the MacBook Air.

2016-10-27T23:47:00+0530

The new MacBook Pro is 6.8 million times faster than the PowerBook. A full year of compute time on the PowerBook can be accomplished in less than five seconds on the new MacBook Pro, Schiller says.

2016-10-27T23:46:00+0530

Schiller just showed a comparison shot of the PowerBook and the latest MacBook Pro. The difference is... stark.

2016-10-27T23:45:00+0530

Another interesting point - the headphone jack is still there on the MacBook Pro.

2016-10-27T23:44:00+0530

It's hard to describe this video. Think Jony Ive's soothing voice telling you how awesome the new Touch Bar, and the MacBook Pro is. It's a great video, as always.

2016-10-27T23:43:00+0530

The MacBook Pro in space gray looks rather good.

2016-10-27T23:42:00+0530

Now a brief video, featuring none other than Jony Ive!

2016-10-27T23:41:00+0530

MS Office apps will have Touch Bar support.

2016-10-27T23:40:00+0530

An update to Djay Pro is coming later this year.

2016-10-27T23:39:00+0530

He tapped the trackpad just once during the entire demo - to end the track.

2016-10-27T23:39:00+0530

We aren't, by any means, expert DJs. But he's performing entirely with the Touch Bar. This could be wonderful for DJs.

2016-10-27T23:39:00+0530

The app looks very well suited to the new Touch Bar.

2016-10-27T23:38:00+0530

Djay Pro is the app he's talking about.

2016-10-27T23:37:00+0530

Third demo via Karim Morsy, CEO of Algoriddim.

2016-10-27T23:36:00+0530

It'll arrive as an update before the end of the year, Evans says.

2016-10-27T23:35:00+0530

This demo is really cool. Evans just used the Touch Bar and the trackpad to adjust the hue and make significant edits to an image.

2016-10-27T23:34:00+0530

Full screens are amazing, she says. There are no panels, no menus, and you can focus 100 percent on the image.

2016-10-27T23:33:00+0530

She's using only the Touch Bar to edit a photo.

2016-10-27T23:32:00+0530

Bradee Evans, who is the experience designer for Photoshop, is on stage to talk about the app.

2016-10-27T23:31:00+0530

On to Adobe Photoshop.

2016-10-27T23:30:00+0530

Plenty of editing functions are accessible through the Touch Bar. It reduces dependence on a mouse or the trackpad.

2016-10-27T23:29:00+0530

You can use the Touch Bar to move through the project and even zoom in, Prescott says.

2016-10-27T23:27:00+0530

Susan Prescott, VP of Apps Marketing at Apple is on stage. She's talking about Final Cut Pro.

2016-10-27T23:26:00+0530

Apple's worked on a new display with LG to create a 5K display.

2016-10-27T23:25:00+0530

Both laptops have four Thunderbolt 3 ports. Any of the four ports can be a charging port, USB-C, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, among others.

2016-10-27T23:24:00+0530

On to the 13 MacBook Pro - Intel Core i5/i7 processor. Intel Iris graphics. It also has the faster SSD.

2016-10-27T23:23:00+0530

The new speakers are louder and sound better, Schiller claims.

2016-10-27T23:22:00+0530

MacBook Pro 15 - Intel Core i7, Radeon Pro graphics and up to 2TB SSD.

2016-10-27T23:21:00+0530

Schiller is back on stage. He's talking about how much better the display is. If you share the Mac with another person, you can use Touch ID to quickly switch back to your account.

2016-10-27T23:20:00+0530

You can easily add buttons and select where they're placed on the Touch Bar.

2016-10-27T23:18:00+0530

Federighi is now talking about customising the Touch Bar.

2016-10-27T23:17:00+0530

Touch Bar takes away all of the navigation buttons or playback controls. This means your photos and videos remain full screen and those controls on screen will be on Touch Bar.

2016-10-27T23:16:00+0530

Touch Bar lets you quickly switch between tabs as well. You can even open your favourites (bookmarks) via Touch Bar.

2016-10-27T23:15:00+0530

The Touch Bar even shows emoji suggestions, and lets you browse through emoji and add them to your messages.

2016-10-27T23:14:00+0530

It even shows suggestions for email addresses.

2016-10-27T23:13:00+0530

The Touch Bar keeps showing different buttons depending on the app that you open. Such as reply all for Mail.

2016-10-27T23:13:00+0530

If you hold down the fn button, the function keys appear on the Touch Bar.

2016-10-27T23:12:00+0530

MacBook Pro has Touch ID. You can unlock it with your fingerprint. Craig Federighi is on stage to talk about it.

2016-10-27T23:11:00+0530

The Touch Bar can show you word suggestions, photo editing controls, and other things.

2016-10-27T23:09:00+0530

It has a Retina Display, and is multi-touch. It responds to gestures and taps, Schiller says.

2016-10-27T23:08:00+0530

It's called Touch Bar.

2016-10-27T23:07:00+0530

The function keys are gone, replaced by the Oled touch panel.

2016-10-27T23:07:00+0530

It has a new keyboard - similar to the one used in the 12 MacBook.

2016-10-27T23:06:00+0530

The new MacBook Pro has a new Force Touch trackpad, which is 2x larger than previous generation ones.

2016-10-27T23:06:00+0530

15 MacBook Pro weighs just 1.8kg.

2016-10-27T23:05:00+0530

The 13 MacBook Pro is 14.9mm thin, with 23 percent smaller volume than the previous generation. The weight is 1.3 kg.

2016-10-27T23:05:00+0530

13 and 15 sizes, silver and space gray colours.

2016-10-27T23:04:00+0530

The new MacBook Pro is made of aluminium.

2016-10-27T23:03:00+0530

Phil Schiller is now on stage to talk about it.

2016-10-27T23:03:00+0530

That Oled touch panel at the top of the MacBook Pro is real!

2016-10-27T23:02:00+0530

Followed by a video showing all of Apple's landmark laptops.

2016-10-27T23:02:00+0530

For 25 years we've been defining and redefining what a notebook is and what a notebook can do. And today, we're going to do it again, Cook says.

2016-10-27T23:01:00+0530

This week happens to be the 25th anniversary of Apple's first notebook - PowerBook, unveiled on October 25, 1991.

2016-10-27T23:00:00+0530

Cook is talking about macOS Sierra. We're still waiting for new product announcements.

2016-10-27T22:58:00+0530

Finally.

2016-10-27T22:57:00+0530

On to Mac.

2016-10-27T22:57:00+0530

All this is great for America, but we're not sure how useful Apple TV's new features will be in India.

2016-10-27T22:56:00+0530

Another important category is live TV. You can watch live TV and pick clips aired recently as well.

2016-10-27T22:54:00+0530

The TV app works across Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad.

2016-10-27T22:53:00+0530

It has other tabs such as Library (iTunes purchases), and Store (to download new apps, and watch new shows).

2016-10-27T22:51:00+0530

This feature is under the Watch Now tab on the new app.

2016-10-27T22:50:00+0530

HBO Now is one of the services available via Apple's TV app.

2016-10-27T22:50:00+0530

The app looks a bit like Apple Music, in terms of design. From the demo, it appears to be like Netflix, but for all of your video services.

2016-10-27T22:49:00+0530

Apple is launching a new app simply called TV. It will completely change how you watch TV, Cook claims.

2016-10-27T22:48:00+0530

Apple is talking about a Unified TV experience. One place to access all of your TV shows and movies.

2016-10-27T22:47:00+0530

Cook is back.

2016-10-27T22:46:00+0530

The app basically lets you check tweets while watching live sports. It lets you send tweets to the iPhone so you can respond to certain tweets.

2016-10-27T22:46:00+0530

Ryan Troy from Twitter is on stage to talk about the future of video.

2016-10-27T22:44:00+0530

2016-10-27T22:43:00+0530

2016-10-27T22:43:00+0530

Over 8000 apps are now on Apple TV. Cook: The future of TV is apps.

2016-10-27T22:40:00+0530

Tim Cook is now showing sample shots of the iPhone 7 Plus' Portait mode.

2016-10-27T22:39:00+0530

Now he's praising iOS 10 with the usual graph showing that 60 percent of iOS users are on iOS 10. He takes a dig at Android, saying that 1 percent of Android devices have Android Nougat and most people will never get the update.

2016-10-27T22:39:00+0530

He's talking about the Photos app's Memories feature. Over 400 million memories have been viewed and enjoyed by iPhone users, he says.

Welcome to the Gadgets 360 live blog of Apple's MacBook event.

2016-10-27T19:33:00+0530

Apple's MacBook event is very likely to be all about updating its lineup of desktop and laptop computers. The company hasn't updated its range of desktop and laptop computers in a while and it's about time the lineup got a much-needed refresh. Gadgets 360 is at the launch venue in Cupertino, California and we'll be bringing you live updates. Wondering what the Apple event start time is? The Apple event of October 2016 begins at 10:30pm IST.

If you're wondering how to watch the Apple event, we've got you covered. But if you are stuck somewhere and can't tune in, this live blog and our Twitter feed should be more than adequate. Apple is expected to launch several new Macs at the October 2016 event, not least of which will be new MacBook Pros and iMacs. The Mac Pro is also likely to get an update, and some are even hoping for an update to the Mac Mini. We'll have confirmation on all of that and more during the event.

The MacBook Pro is likely to be faster, thinner, and lighter, or at least that's what the Apple we know would do. It could also have an Oled display panel on the keyboard and get rid of the Esc key. Support for Apple's Touch ID fingerprint sensor technology is also expected to be unveiled.

In other news, Apple may announce a TV guide app for the Apple TV, to make it easier to manage all of your subscriptions across content providers. This could be a great move for Apple TV users, but we're not yet sure how much it'll affect those who use it in India.
