Acer on Wednesday announced the launch of the Acer Swift 5 ultra-thin and lightweight laptop in India. With a 14.9mm thin design, 8th generation Intel Core processors, and a weight of just 970 grams, the premium Swift 5's build uses a combination of magnesium-lithium alloy for the top and bottom and magnesium-aluminium alloy for the palm rest. The laptop runs Windows 10 Home, and is priced starting at Rs. 79,999. The Acer Swift 5 will be available at Acer Exclusive stores and other leading retailers.
The Acer Swift 5 sports a 14-inch full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) IPS-Pro display that is claimed to fit into the same footprint as a 13-inch display thanks to its narrow bezels. The display also comes with Acer's proprietary Color Intelligence technology that optimises screen brightness, colour, and saturation. The laptop is powered by the 8th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, paired with 8GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD storage, and 8 hours battery backup (4670mAh). Swift 5 also packs in 2x2 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
Other features include a Windows Hello fingerprint sensor, one USB Type-C (3.1) port, two USB 3.0 ports, and a backlit keyboard. Dimensions of the Acer Swift 5 laptop are 328.9x228.1x14.9mm and weight is 970 grams.
Commenting on the launch, Chandrahas Panigrahi, CMO and Consumer Business Head, Acer India, said, "We are ecstatic with the newest addition - Swift 5 to our range of Swift series laptops in India. This is another record breaker by being one of the lightest laptops in the world at an unbelievable 970 grams. Cramming so much technology into such a light weight body showcases our engineering and design capabilities and we are sure Swift 5 appeals to a wide variety of people looking for a portable, light-weight powerhouse laptop.
