Acer on Tuesday unveiled its refreshed Predator Triton 300, Predator Helios 300, and the Nitro 5 gaming laptops with the newly launched 11th-generation Intel Core H-series processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series GPUs. The presence of the new Intel Core processors enable faster computing out-of-the-box. The new Acer laptops also carry other updates, including improvements to the displays, to deliver an upgraded experience. Additionally, you'll get the latest Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity as well as features such as a 3D fan and a proprietary thermal management system. Acer has interestingly brought its new Predator Triton 300, Predator Helios 300, and Nitro 5 models nearly four months after their last upgrades.
Acer Predator Triton 300 (PT315-53) price starts at $1,699 (roughly Rs. 1,24,800)/ EUR 1,499 (roughly Rs. 1,33,900). The laptop will go on sale in the US from July, though its availability is set for June in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. The next in the series is Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-57) 15-inch model that is priced at $1,099 (roughly Rs. 80,700)/ EUR 999 (roughly Rs. 89,300). The 17-inch Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54), on the other hand, comes at $1,299 (roughly Rs. 95,400)/ EUR 1,299 (roughly Rs. 1,16,100). Both new Acer Nitro models will go on sale in the US, EMEA, and China from June. Details about the pricing and availability of Acer Predator Helios 300 are yet to be announced.
Acer Predator Triton 300 (PT315-53) offers an all-metal chassis and features 165Hz QHD and 360Hz full-HD display options both in 15.6-inch sizes. The laptop also comes with a 19.9mm thick build that carries the company's 5th-generation AeroBlade 3D fan, resulting in 55 percent better airflow than a regular plastic fan. To help gamers speed up their performance, there is a backlit 4-zone RGB keyboard, along with coloured WASD and aero key caps. It also includes DTS X:Ultra audio to deliver a 360-degree surround sound via headphones and speakers.
Acer has provided the 11th-generation Intel Core H-series processors with a maximum clock speed of 4.6GHz, along with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Series Laptop GPU and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. The machine also has Intel Killer E2600G Ethernet, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i, and Control Center 2.0 for less latency and a range of I/O options, such as HDMI 2.1, a pair of USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, Mini DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB Type-C (Thunderbolt 4).
Acer Predator Helios 300 comes in 15.6- and 17-inch sizes and offers 360Hz full-HD and 165Hz QHD display options. The laptop is powered by up to latest 11th-generation Intel Core H-series processors, along with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. The new silicon is supported by Acer's 5th-generation AeroBlade 3D fan. The 17-inch model additionally includes the company's Vortex Flow Design concept that is claimed to generate aerodynamic flows to enhance cooling on the CPU and GPU alongside maintaining the chassis' temperature.
Similar to the new Predator Triton 300, the latest Acer Predator Helios 300 comes with a gaming keyboard that has four RGB zones and see-through concave-shaped caps on the WASD keys.
The new Acer Predator Helios 300 also includes Intel Killer E2600 ethernet controller, Intel Killer Wi-FI 6 AX1650i, and Control Center 2.0, as well as DTS:X Ultra. You'll also get USB 3.2 ports, including the Thunderbolt 4 USB-C with support for DisplayPort functionality and power delivery, and an HDMI 2.1 port. Further, there is 2TB HDD storage.
Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-57) comes in a 15.6-inch size, while the Nitro 5 (AN517-54) has a 17.3-inch size. Both versions feature a QHD IPS display with up to 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. The laptop also has up to 11th-generation Intel Core-H series processor, along with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 series GPU and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Further, the laptop includes a pair of M.2 PCIe/ SATA SSDs slots to support up to 1TB Raid 0 SSD or 2TB HDD.
Acer has provided its Coolboost technology along with dual fans on the new Nitro 5 that is claimed to offer up to 10 percent improved fan speed and a nine percent increase in CPU/ GPU cooling when compared to auto mode. The laptop also comes with a dedicated NitroSense key that lets users monitor the system performance and select from the preset cooling modes.
The new Acer Nitro 5 also has the keyboard with four-zone RGB lights and 1.6mm travel. In terms of connectivity, there are options such as an RJ45, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, as well as a USB Type-C (Thunderbolt 4) port.
