Great Deals on Home Electronics, MacBook Pro, a Headphone Splitter, and More

This week we tell you all you need to know about Flipkart's massive home electronics sale this weekend. We have the latest MacBook Pro 13-inch, smart 4K TVs, budget laptops, affordable soundbar and more.

1. Discounts on home electronics at Flipkart
Flipkart is running a promotional sale on home electronics this weekend. The online retailer has air conditioners, LED TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines available at a discount. While some large electronics will only ship to select areas, you can get LED TVs shipped almost anywhere. Flipkart does have a decent inventory of home electronics and in case you were planning on buying something this weekend, at least do a price check before you step out in the heat. You can even get an additional 5% off using HDFC Bank cards. Also, look out for exchange offers where you can swap your old home electronics items with new ones at a discount.

(a) Air Conditioners

The LG 1-ton 5-star rated split AC at Rs. 25,990 (MRP Rs. 33,490). If have a small sized room that doesn't need a large air conditioner, and need something energy efficient, this AC will fit right in. The LG 1-ton split AC also comes with an anti-bacteria filter, and an auto restart feature. The cost of installation and a stabiliser will be extra, and will need to be paid to the installation guy directly.

(b) LED TVs
The Micromax 42-inch UHD LED TV is available at a discounted price of Rs. 35,990 (MRP Rs. 69,990). If you have an old TV you would like to swap, you can get an additional Rs. 2,500 off on the TV. You can also get 5% off using an HDFC Bank card. The Micromax 42-inch UHD TV features a 4K resolution, includes smart TV functionality which means you can use a bunch of internet-powered apps using the built-in WiFi, and there are three HDMI ports and three USB ports. At the current price, it's a decent 4K TV if you really want one. As for other TVs, if you plan on buying one, make sure you compare prices with Snapdeal and Paytm, the former almost always has a decent price and the latter is currently offering a cashback on select LED TVs.

2. iLuv multiple audio splitter with Apple RC

If you like to share your music, and are on the look out for an audio splitter, the iLuv ICB107WHT audio splitter is available at a discounted price of Rs. 499 (MRP Rs. 1,375) at Croma this week. Although there are plenty of cheaper alternatives available in the market, they're not really as durable as this one. The iLuv audio splitter allows you to split a single audio output into multiple outputs, allowing you to hook up a number of headphones to a single device. This variant can allow you to connect up to 5 headphones to a single device. There are music and volume controls on the audio splitter that are compatible with iPad, iPod, and select portable music players.

3. F&D Bluetooth powered soundbar

Add an extra layer of sound to your big-screen TV with this affordable F&D Bluetooth powered soundbar. Available on Snapdeal for just Rs. 3,949 (MRP Rs. 12,990), this is one of those few decent budget soundbars that actually work. The company promises a 3D surround sound, and a decent bass. The wireless coverage with Bluetooth is available up to around 10 meters. It can be mounted on a wall, or simply setup on a table top. The F&D soundbar also looks quite decent for its price tag. It comes with a remote control for basic operations. The soundbar comes with a full 1-year manufacturer warranty.

4. Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (2015 variant)

Amazon has the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro at a low price of Rs. 82,200 (MRP Rs. 94,900) this week. The MacBook Pro 13-inch is powered by the Intel Core i5 processor, supported by 8GB of RAM. It comes with a 128GB SSD, and runs OS X Yosemite out of the box. The new MacBook Pro promises a battery backup of up to 10 hours on a single charge. It comes with an all new trackpad known as the Force Touch trackpad which offers a number of gesture driven functionality over the older trackpad. You'll get an authentic Apple India unit, which will include a full 1-year manufacturer warranty just in case you were wondering. In case you're not satisfied with your unit, you can return it to Amazon within a 30-day window period.

5. Samsung 55-inch 4K smart LED TV

Snapdeal is selling the Samsung 55-inch 4K smart LED TV for Rs. 137,240 (MRP Rs. 183,900) this week. This is the lowest price online for this TV that comes with manufacturer warranty. If you're in the market for a high-end 4K TV that's not crazy expensive right now, this one is worth the money. Samsung's 55-inch 4K LED TV includes everything you would expect from a smart TV. It comes with four HDMI 2.0 ports, three USB ports. It includes support for Wi-Fi Direct, and can use 3G and LTE dongles for Internet connectivity. The apps included on the TV are Skype, multimedia content viewing app, news, social, and fitness related apps. The TV can also be controlled using voice and facial recognition systems. You can use special hand gestures to switch channels or adjust volume.
