For context: I upgraded from iPhone 12 and even then, this feels like such a huge upgrade in every department from cameras, display, battery life to overall feel of the phone. Lets talk both Pros & Cons of this smartphone -Pros:1) Looks and design: the shiny stainless steel sides, big camera housing with 3 sensors and Lidar, matte glass back, the weight of the phone itself and squared off edges make this phone one of the best looking device. It is sure to turn heads. And don?t forget the shiny new sierra blue colour, it looks fab in person!2) Display: Finally 120hz on iPhones!! And it works like charm. Also this has the highest ?typical? screen brightness of 1000 nits, beating even the S21 Ultra which has 900 nits. Also the notch has been shrunken down to an extent where they serious don?t bother much. And at 6.7 inch, it?s big enough that you can enjoy your games and movies on it with ease. A pro display for sure.3) Cameras: cinematic & macro modes are welcome addition and they work like a charm. Best camera for portrait mode photos still IMO, and it gives natural colours with great detail even in low light (main improvement). Even ultra-wide camera is very sharp this year! And for videos, iPhones have been always the best, so no complaints there.4) Battery: by increasing over 1000 mah from last year?s 12 pro max, this 13 PM is a beast and can last even 2 days of moderate use very easily. I haven?t experienced this kind of battery life anywhere else. One of the underrated improvements this year for sure, don?t sleep on it guys, it?ll really surprise you.5) Speakers: Not many people are talking about this but 13 PM actually has new speaker system, which is more bassy and louder than even the last year?s phone. You?ll not believe the sound is coming from phone?s speaker, it?s so good.6) Performance: A15 Bionic + 6GB RAM + iOS optimisation + New 5 core GPU + 120hz. Do I need to say more?Cons:It?s not like that this phone is perfect. It still has some flaws:1) Price: In India, Apple charges a premium and rates are exorbitant compared to say Dubai or US. Definitely not a value for money device (if u r looking for that, regular iPhone 13 or even last year?s 12 is way waay better value). Pro series of iPhones is specially overpriced in India, which should change ASAP.2) No USB-C, still lightning, like come-on Apple!3) Slow charging (20W) compared to most Android phones: but it?s less of a issue for me on the pro max as battery life is itself so good, I hardly have to plug it in and it never dies in between my day.4) Still a notch, even though reduced a lot. But they should have given a hole punch and maybe under display sensors for face ID5) No fingerprint reader: Face Id struggles when mask is there, which gets annoying.6) No multitasking features, even on bigger iPhone models like pro max. Why can?t we split screen like android phones does, or pop view apps!7) Missing features: No reverse wireless charging, no lock screen video wallpapers, no dual whatsapp, no call recording feature, etc etc. Apple really restricts the user?s choices in terms of features and customisability compared to Android! Conclusion: I have elaborated both sides of the coin, if you are okay with iOS and it?s limitations, then definitely this is the phone to get, especially for the display, performance, cameras and battery life! This phone (maybe a bit boring) nails the fundamentals/basics a smartphone is made of. If you can swallow the price, just go for it, it?ll last you years before you even feel a need to upgrade and will still provide a decent resale value if you plan to sell it in future. In that sense, it?s worth it.PS: If you found this informative, do hit the ?Helpful? button bellow. Cheers!
