YatraGenie, which is one of the few government-licensed radio taxi operators in the country, will introduce 100 cabs within Bengaluru and 50 cabs for outstation travel to start with, it said in a release.
In the coming months, YatraGenie will be partnering with cab operators to introduce 1,000 cabs within the city and 500 taxis for outstation travel, it added.
"The taxi service market is projected to significantly grow in the coming years. Clearly, the market is under-served and there is still room for new players that can innovate and serve customers better, not just in metro cities but also in tier two cities," YatraGenie President and CEO Renil Komitla said.
By the end of 2015, YatraGenie will set up operations in 65 cities and towns with an inventory of 25,000 cabs, he added.
Apart from Bengaluru, YatraGenie has already launched services in Nellore, Tirupati, Gudur, Kavali and Vijayawada, it said, adding that it will also launch its services in Guntur, Rajahmundry and Vishakhapatnam by end of this month.
With the addition of new centres, Yatragenie.com will be a one stop destination for both bus and car travel booking services for entire coastal Andhra Pradesh region, it said.
