The Amrita University, founded by "hugging saint" Mata Amritananda Mayi's E-learning Research Lab, has developed the mobile version of A-VIEW for the new version of Aakash tablet.
The programme runs on the Aakash tablet and over 14,000 teachers across 240 remote centres will attend the launch as part of the workshop on Aakash by IIT Bombay.
On the occasion, the president will address thousands of faculty members and students across the nation who will have with them Aakash running A-VIEW software.
According to Kamal Bijlani, director, Amrita E-Learning Research Lab, A-VIEW 3.0, said this was developed with the vision of bridging the gap between needy students and qualified, experienced teachers in the Indian higher education sector.
A-VIEW is a collaborative project under "Talk to a Teacher" by the Amrita University and the IIT-Bombay supported by the National Mission on Education through ICT and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
Earlier in June 2012, A-VIEW was used by IIT Bombay to train 10,000 teachers online at different geographical locations, which was the biggest online programme undertaken in the country.
