Schoolguru
Mumbai-based e-learning company Schoolguru announced Wednesday that it has raised Rs. 20 crores in Series A funding from the family offices of a few HNI Investors in India and USA. Schoolguru works with several universities and helps them launch, run, and manage their online programmrs on its platform. The funds raised will be invested in the enhancement of the technology platform to provide an improved learning experience to students, the company said in an emailed statement.
Schoolguru's content library consists of video lectures created with the help of 1,500 professors and academicians in India and abroad. Currently, Schoolguru is covering close to 170 graduation and post graduate programs and services close to 1,50,000 students covering nine major regional languages, the company said.
Schoolguru is planning to associate with 25-30 Indian universities across all major states and targeting over a million students in the next couple of years to enrol for the e-learning enabled programs in India.
Welcome Cure
Mumbai-based Welcome Cure an online homeopathic tele-consultation platform announced Tuesday that it has raised $6 million (roughly Rs. 39 crores) in pre-series A funding from a pool of investors. The funding will be used used for expansion and marketing plans, the company said in an email statement.
Welcome Cure offers online consultation via video chat, live chat, Skype, telephonic and email interactions with physicians worldwide. It has a network of over 100 doctors providing treatment for over 100 diseases, the company said.
Naturally Yours
Mumbai-based online organic food marketplace, Naturally Yours, has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from angel investor Sanjay Mehta. The Internet-first brand sells on portals like Amazon, Flipkart, Shopclues, Healthkart, Pepperfry and on its own website.
StalkBuyLove
Delhi-based online fashion brand StalkBuyLove has raised an undisclosed amount in a series-A funding from a clutch of investors, including former Rocket Internet CEO Mato Peric and AECAL partner Peter Kabel.
Docplexus
Pune-based Docplexus, a web based collaboration platform for doctors has raised funding of Rs. 4.6 crores from asp. group and Uniqorn Ventures. Founded in 2014, the platform can be used by doctors to securely collaborate with other healthcare professionals on patient treatment, grow their practices and discover new career opportunities. Docplexus is also available in a Android app on Google Play, where it has less than 10,000 downloads.
Voylla
Jaipur-based online store of fashion jewellery and accessories, Voylla.com has secured around $15 million (roughly Rs. 97 crores) in fresh funding from private equity firm Peepul Capital. The three year-old startup will reportedly use the funds to enhance its technology, building its brand and expanding its business to offline channel.
Nykaa
Mumbai-based FSN E-Commerce Ventures Pvt Ltd, owner of Nykaa.com, an e-commerce platform for beauty and wellness products, has secured $9 million (roughly Rs. 60 crores) in its second institutional funding round led by private equity firm TVS Capital. Founded in 2012, Nykaa reportedly plans to increase its gross merchandise value (GMV) five times in 2016.
