To celebrate the launch of Google Drive, Google has decided to bump the Gmail storage from 7.5GB to 10GB. This extended storage is being rolled-out to global Gmail users in stages, most of the consumers will first see 8GB of space in their mailboxes, which will then increase to 9GB and then 10GB.

Company has also stated that the storage won't be limited to 10GB and it will continue to increase as always. This is a ten-fold rise in the Gmail storage since the launch in 2004.

Consumers will still have the option to buy more storage from Google with plans starting from 25GB for $2.49 per month.
