Flipkart has started an exclusive scheme to benefit students with additional discounts. The company, under its Flipkart Students scheme, will provide different offers in various categories from time to time.
Students can scan or click a picture of their student ID and can mail it to Flipkart along with few others details. The offers under the scheme will get activated for users within three days, a process which includes the verification of the ID. Users will receive an email confirming verification along with their offer activation details, then an SMS confirming activation if a phone number has been provided. In the event of rejection, users will be informed via email.
As a sign-up offer, the company is offering a Rs. 150 discount on purchases above Rs. 750, and a 50 percent discount to the Flipkart First premium subscription service. Numerous other offers have been detailed, with different validities, and users will be able to access them if they login with the registered email ID associated with the Flipkart Student scheme.
Flipkart in India had introduced its Flipkart First service in May. The service is an annual subscription service for frequent shoppers similar to the Amazon Prime premium subscription service in the US.
Flipkart First offers customers unlimited access to In-a-Day Guarantee delivery; free standard delivery with no minimum purchase price; Same-day Guarantee delivery at a discounted price, and a bonus 60-day replacement guarantee, instead of the usual 30-day period.

On the other hand, Amazon Prime service offers customers in the US a free two-day shipping on orders with no minimum order size and more. In India, Amazon has one-day guaranteed shipping in select cities for Rs. 99, which it had introduced last year.
Earlier this month, Filpkart also expanded its 'In-a-day Guarantee' service to 50 cities. The company as an introductory offer to these cities has slashed the price to Rs. 50 from Rs. 90 for two days on orders above Rs. 5,050. The service was introduced last year with some selective Indian cities. For the latest tech news and reviews, follow Gadgets 360 on X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads and Google News.
