All six district courts in Delhi will have Wi-Fi facility in the next 3-4 months.

Firefly, a joint venture firm of Airtel and Vodafone, has received the order to install Wi-Fi at the district courts in the national capital.

"Following the leadership shown by the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court to digitally enable their premise, all district courts in Delhi are now working intensively to provide similar services on their premise," Firefly CEO Raj Sethia told PTI.

The company in January-end commissioned Wi-Fi at Delhi High Court.

Speaking on the time-frame for the Wi-Fi roll out at the district courts, Sethia said, "This is expected to be operational over the next 3-4 months."

With the launch of this facility people would have access to the Internet via Wi-Fi in all public areas of the courts including chamber blocks, lobbies and corridors of the court room buildings, cafeteria, bar rooms and the library.

The six district courts in Delhi are Tis Hazari, Patiala House, Karkardooma, Rohini, Dwarka and Saket.

While Airtel and Vodafone customers can opt paying for Wi-Fi data service from their existing packages, others can buy time-based usage vouchers or data limit based vouchers ranging from Rs. 20 to Rs. 270.

This facility would also be available on the non-sim card devices, such as laptops that are Wi-Fi compatible.
