Google on Wednesday brought a new feature to desktop search results for businesses, letting users make Hangout voice calls to the primary phone number displayed in the search results.

The phone number associated with a particular establishment will appear in big digits as a 'quick answer' when Google accurately returns the correct establishment in its search results. Users simply have to click on the number, and a Hangouts call will be initiated.

As with other Hangouts voice-calling, users will be able to make free calls to numbers in the US and Canada, but when making calls to other countries charges will apply that are listed here. As of now it seems that the service has been rolled out to US only and will gradually reach other countries.

"Looking for information and want to get in touch fast? The next time you're searching for a business or place (on desktop), look for the linked phone number that appears as a quick answer. When you click, you'll place the call right via Hangouts. Calls to US and Canada are free and calls to other countries are just a few cents away" wrote Google's Product Manager for Enterprise Mobility, Mayur Kamat, on a Google+ post.

On Monday, Google also started rolling-out its premium Google+ features to all its enterprise users (Google Apps), with noticeable changes to its Google+ and Hangouts apps.

Earlier the Google+ premium features were available as a preview that could be enabled by IT administrators. Now, new Google Apps customers will see these updates as they register, while the exiting users will see the updates in July.
