Microsoft's Bing video search has received a new layout that the company claims makes "searching easier and faster." The new refresh now shows more information when a user needs to quickly choose the right video to watch.
The refreshed layout now shows bigger video thumbnail than before in search results. The new layout also shows more information such as channel, upload date, and view count.
For a specific video search, Bing will now show a 'hero' or enlarged thumbnail image of the top and most relevant video result, which will also be playable directly in the results. Users can also click through to the source.
The layout will now show all the related searches moved in line with the original search making it easier for the user to scroll through the page. The bottom page of the Bing video search results page will offer more suggestions and the option to see more video search results.
Bing also claims that the updates improve touch-friendliness and will scale better to tablets and other smaller screens.
Microsoft's Bing earlier this month announced it would encrypt most online traffic in the coming months as part of a ramped-up security effort.
To recall, Google made similar revamps to its video search last year when also had introduced a new YouTube section named Music. With Bing's latest revamp however, Google is due to improve its own search offering to catch up.
