Flipkart recently announced that its Big Billion Days sale will kick off from October 10 this year. The fifth edition of the biggest Flipkart sale of the year will run for five days. The Big Billion Days sale will include offers on all major product categories including smartphones, laptops, TVs, appliances, and a lot more. For the Flipkart sale this year, the company has started promoting its Big Billion Days sale slightly earlier compared to its previous sales. The online marketplace has also roped in some major Indian celebrities to promote the sale. These include Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli, Saurav Ganguly, and others. There's no doubt the e-commerce player is set to create its biggest festive season sale ever.

Apart from spending more on marketing and promotions this year, Flipkart is also offering a wide range of payment options to make it easier for Indian online shoppers to buy their favourite products with minimum friction. These will also encourage first-time shoppers to take the leap. Flipkart has also teamed up with HDFC Bank to offer 10 percent instant discount on its debit and credit cards.

Flipkart has recently introduced the Flipkart Plus program for its customers. It's a free-to-join loyalty program that offers free shipping, priority customer support, loyalty points, and other benefits. Flipkart Plus members will get an early access to deals and offers on Big Billion Days sale this year.

What to expect from Flipkart Big Billion Days sale 2018

The Flipkart sale will roll out with different categories opening up on specific days. The first day of the Big Billion Days sale will include offers on fashion, TVs and appliances, smart devices, and other categories. The second day will feature offers on smartphones, gadgets and accessories, and other electronics. All the offers will continue, based on availability, till October 14.

Apart from regular discounts, Flipkart will offer limited-period deals on select products. These are divided into four basic types:

  1. Crazy Deals: These deals will be available on select products and will refresh every 8 hours during the Big Billion Days sale. You can expect these to run out pretty quickly since the discounts are quite enticing.
  2. Maha Price Drop: Flipkart will offer an extra discount (over regular discounts) worth up to 20 percent for a limited time. You'll need to stay glued to their website or the mobile app to grab one of these deals.
  3. Rush Hour: These offers will be available on select products during the first two hours of the sale only.
  4. Flash Sale: Flipkart claims it will offer around 120 deals for 120 hours during the Big Billion Days sale as a part of its flash sale.

In terms of deals on gadgets and other electronics, you'll be able to purchase TVs and large appliances on the first day of the sale itself. In case you're looking to buy smart devices such as Google Home and the Google Home Mini, you'll be able to grab one on the first day of the sale. For smartphones and other gadgets, you'll need to wait till October 11. That's when most deals and offers on electronics will go live on the Big Billion Day sale.

Flipkart sale deals on mobile phones

To make its smartphones deals even sweeter, Flipkart will be offering its mobile protection plans for as little as Rs. 99 during the Big Billion Days sale. The online marketplace will also bundle theft coverage with its mobile protection plans exclusively during the sale. Apart from that, you can also purchase buyback plans with up to 90 percent reselling value on your new purchase. Buyers will also be able to use bundled exchange offers to get an instant discount on smartphones and other electronics. Flipkart will reveal some of the biggest smartphone deals from Big Billion Days sale between October 3 and October 7.

Flipkart sale deals on TVs and appliances
Flipkart claims it will offer discounts worth up to 80 percent on TVs and appliances during the Big Billion Day sale this year. The online marketplace boasts of a massive inventory consisting of more than 500 brands and above 38,000 products in the appliances category. Large appliances will be available with no-cost EMI, extended warranty, and exchange offers.

Flipkart sale offers on laptops, speakers, and more
The Flipkart sale 2018 will offer discounts and offers worth up to 80 percent on gadgets and electronics. These include laptops, speakers, sounders, digital cameras, tablets, and a lot more. Some of the offers Flipkart has teased so far include heavy discounts on the JBL Flip 3 portable speaker, Canon and Nikon DSLRs, Apple iPad (sixth generation), Apple Watch Series 3, PlayStation 4, and more. If you're looking to buy these products, it'll be a good idea to add them to your wishlist right away so that it'll be easier to track them down once they go on sale. In the days leading up to the sale, Flipkart is expected to reveal more upcoming offers and deals.
