The name InFocus might ring a bell, as sure enough, you would have seen at least one of its projectors in offices or in tech magazines by now. It's an American company that's well known for video and communications devices, and like most, has branched out into producing smartphones as well. Its latest flagship, the M812, launched this week along with two more handsets. We'll be putting it through the grind today to see if it's worth your time and money.

Look and feel
The InFocus M812 is the successor to the M810, which the company launched this July. The new smartphone ditches the glass back of the M810 for a unibody aluminium chassis. The result is quite brilliant as the phone feels sturdy and very premium. On one hand, it looks very similar to the Apple iPhone 6 (Review | Pictures), which is not necessarily a bad thing. It's not surprising at all when you consider the original device manufacturer (ODM) for the phone is Foxconn. To avoid getting in hot water with the Californian tech giant, InFocus has added some design elements such as a novelty 4G logo on the back, and positioned the camera module in the center.

InFocus M812 Summary

The InFocus M812 is well-built unibody smartphone carved from a single block of aluminium. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC is still very capable and delivers good performance in games and video playback. The display is also sharp and vivid with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Battery life and camera performance are other areas where the M812 does a good job too. Those looking to use two SIM cards will be disappointed since you can either do that or expand the storage – not both. The speaker could have been better too and despite an onboard amplifier, isn’t the clearest. At a launch price of Rs 19999, it will be a tough sell when you have the Motorola Moto X Play selling for less.

I love this product. Infocus M812i is Amazingly fast and Stylish, the looks can kill other Mobile companies on Jealousy. I was comparing this Infocus M812i with Moto X Play and OnePlus One and Two, but i find Infocus M812i way better because of its stunning Looks, features, price, Quality, Premium Customer base and others mentioned below.I purchased it on Snapdeal at Rs. 19,999 -1500 offer discount = Rs.18499/-. Yuppie...I wish to list the pros and cons of Infocus M812i below.Pros:A unique blend of Exceptional Artistry and Advance technology with Premium Looking Metal design.Very Fast speed and interface.4G connectivity.WLAN is dual band and I receive WLAN speeds of 6 MBps (=48Mbps) at my residence. Zoom Zoom...Optmized weight as per the screen size.Dual- tone Back LED flash.Pizel Density 403 ppi and (5.5inch) full HD gives stunning Crisp display.3 GB Ram and Quad Cores so no hanging problem now.Battery last 40 hours under optimal usage. Excellent phone. I got the OTA update of Marshmallow. The build quality is very good. The camera (both front and back) is decent. Only thing that upsets me is that it has 16 gb ROM. And it doesn't support VoLTE.
