HTC Desire X- A Fine Mid-Range Android Phone

HTC Desire X- a sub-15K Android Phone is a pretty decent choice with the 1GHz Dual-Core processor accompanied by 768MB RAM apt for general and even to some extent gaming usage...
As far as the design is concerned, The Phone is handy and the screen dimensions are the best in-class for all types of usage. The Back Plate is quite adorable with shining HTC logo and the Navy Blue- Round Rectangle surrounding the camera.
The 5MP Shooter at the back is great with a variety of modes like HDR and Group Portrait which work completely fine under all light conditions.
The phone comes with Android 4.0 out-of-the-box which has an upgrade to Jelly-Bean also featuring Trace Keyboard.
The phone suffers a little lag when you browse the internet with many heavy apps in-function at the same time.{e.g. Chrome, Facebook, TOI, WhatsApp} all simultaneously but this is minimal.
A few users generally face daily lags. The reason as I have discovered is Installation of too many apps in The Internal Storage. However on tranferring apps to SD Card solves the issue.
The phone is durable, it has withstood lots of bumpings and still doesn't utter a word(I mean still working properly).
The LoudSpeaker is not very loud however the sound is clear and sharp.
Headphone quality is QUIETLY BRILLIANT thanks to Dr.Dre.
A few bulky apps like FIFA14 and REAL FOOTBALL tend to a little lag however, CSR Racing and Modern Kombat were absolutely fine.
The Back Plate gets heated a little on Heavy Internet or Gaming usageand it sometimes leads to LCD friction on the screen, but that's bearable.
The UI is the USP as it's HTC, it's the best in the world.
For Business usage, the Mail, Calendar and Tasks app are well equipped so you don't need one from the Google Play.
The stock web Browser is kind of mixed bag thing, it's good for Web-Reading and Offline Reading but at the same time the page refreshes each time you re-open the tab.
The tactile response is overall good, however one may face a problem using POWER button from the front, else one handed =usage is all great.
The Screen is great and clearly illuminated even in sunlight.
The Phone doesn't spot Front-Facing Camera and NFC so,only rear shooter selfies and no touch sharing.
One thing might hurt a few is the phone doesn't have a Magnetometer. sorry no Compass.
The Bluetooth sharing and Internet speed(both EDGE and HSDPA) are upto-mark.
I bought this phone a year ago, I compared a lot even checked out the reviews on NDTV website itself and shortlisted Samsung S Advance and HTC Desire X.
And HTC was the better part due to its unique design and far better UI.
Verdict:-The phone is a decent choice for those who like to use the phone and don't want to change it within 6-months. You will never get bored of using it. I still admire my phone and it's been a year now.
The single-sim variant has been discontinued and is now available in dual-sim mode only,
Key competitor of today is Sony Xperia M which is good but faces some problem while switching on the Mobile Data.

Having used this cellphone for a month now & purchased for INR 11238.pros:brilliant touch, fine camera ,Handy.cons:gets some lags while playing games and sliding homescreen its irritating.Beats audio doesn't support on speaker, battery charging requires more than 30 min to charge from 95% to 100%.I recommend to purchase this product offline after checking the dummy piece.

The camera lens has dust in it since the moment I purchased it. God knows, if that was a used product. Had to visit the HTC service centre. But they cleaned it for free.
