Not user friendly or rather only for 'Smart' people

After fiddling with the machine's "smart panel" for about 3 hours, one thing that strongly comes to my mind: 'what's the point of making something smart & beautiful if it is not user friendly!.....Yes, having previously used a Godrej Fully Automatic w/m for 7yrs this is how I feel.
My erstwhile w/m was GDF1402 model, so simple to operate, anytime during any wash cycle one can easily change the water settings, program cycle etc with a press of just 2 buttons. Now is this one, high on looks, bold LED display, them side curves and above all the great "smart panel". Wow
Machine by default starts in Fuzzy++ mode (automatic) mode (timer shows --:--), once you start on, you just cannot change the program cycle easily. You have to go to each stage, using the arrow keys, change it to 0 (zero) or other number and to next and so on until you want to select the cycle you are looking for. In between Fuzzy, if you change the cycle to all together a different preset mode, then you cannot reset it back to Fuzzy again. I even spoke to the Godrej technician who said in this model you cannot reset instantly. You will again have to follow manual step of making every stage to 0 (zero), come to spin stage>pause> then power off. This is very irritating. Next you switch on, w/m gets reset to Fuzzy++, that means timer showing --:-- (and not 01:02 or any other time)
At my home machine is majorly operated by my mom who is now mighty irritated because of this tricky control.... What the heck shall I do?? This machine is not bad, it is just "Smart"!!
Now I am breaking my head, for not making a 'smart' choice!
