Watch Dogs 2 is out on November 15 and in the run up to that Ubisoft has been showing it off to the press. The most recent showcase threw light on the game’s performance.
According to Digital Foundry - a website focussing on the technical side of video games, the game runs at native 1080p on the PS4. It had a solid 30fps with only a few dips while driving. It also noticed that the game’s draw distance was a larger focus this time around compared to its predecessor.

Also of interest is that the game world is twice as big. It felt more lively and dynamic compared to the first, a major plus point for those who thought that Watch Dogs’ Chicago was sparse.
While most of these indicate a solid version of the game on the PS4, Digital Foundry did notice that when driving at high speeds, texture pop-in was evident that tended to mar the experience.

And although Watch Dogs 2 was shown off at Sony’s PlayStation Meeting, exact details on the PS4 Pro variant are scarce at the moment.

Given how competent the PS4 port of Watch Dogs 2 is shaping up to be, it makes us wonder if there really is any reason to bother with the PS4 Pro version at all.
