Valve has introduced a new feature to its popular Steam game distribution client that allows users to permanently remove a game from their library.
While it may not seem like a major feature, it should please those who'd been embarrassed or otherwise troubled by having a particular game they'd bought, redeemed, or otherwise procured visible to others in their library of games.
Discovered by a NeoGAF forum user over the weekend, Steam users can now permanently remove a game from their account by following this method:
Go to Help menu in the Steam client, select Steam Support, and then select Games, Software, etc. You then have to select the particular game from the list of library games, and then choose, 'I want to permanently remove this game from my account', and then confirm the choice with 'Ok, remove the listed games from my account permanently'.
Valve last month introduced local pricing for India, giving Steam content prices in Indian rupees in the country. Late last month, the company also unveiled its Black Friday sale, with a difference. Unlike previous Steam sales, this time Valve ensured that there is only one discounted price the entire sale, and that the deal lasts the entire duration of the sale - which happened to be one week in this case. Steam is set to hold its Winter sale from December 22 to January 1, which might see some newer games like Just Cause 3 and Rainbow Six Siege at even cheaper prices.Catch the latest from the Consumer Electronics Show on Gadgets 360, at our CES 2026 hub.
