The Uncharted series is undoubtedly the strongest franchise Sony has going for it at the moment. It has a rabid following in most countries, India included. In fact, many a gamer has been saving up for a PlayStation 4 in order to play the latest instalment in the adventures of explorer Nathan Drake.
Which is why it would come as a disappointment for many that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, originally planned for a mid-December release, has been delayed to Spring 2016. According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, the game needs more time before it is ready for public consumption.
"After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don't take lightly -- this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for... So we've made the difficult choice of pushing the game's release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End not only meets the team's high standards, but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title," reads the post on the PlayStation blog signed by Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann, directors of the game.
What this means is, Sony has no big game out this Christmas season, which is crucial for the console maker to move PS4s. Meanwhile, Microsoft should be launching Halo 5: Guardians that is guaranteed to help the Xbox One bridge the gap between the PS4. With a slew of third party games out this in the second half this year such as a new Assassin's Creed and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, there are more than enough reasons for PS4 and Xbox One owners to get the most out of their consoles.
