Sci-fi shooter Star Wars Battlefront 2 was revealed last month by publisher EA. While the US and other regions have had pricing and release date information known for quite some time, Amazon India — EA’s exclusive retailer in the country, has finally confirmed how much you’ll be paying for Star Wars Battlefront 2 in India.
Star Wars Battlefront 2’s India price is Rs. 3,999 on the PS4 and Xbox One and will be available from November 17, 2017. The Star Wars Battlefront 2: Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition, which grants digital extras and access to the game three days prior to its official release day, has not been listed just yet nor has the PC version. Though we won’t be surprised if they’re added in days to come.
Considering how poorly priced Battlefield 1 initially was, it’s heartening to see EA take a few steps back. Granted its caused by a stronger Indian Rupee rather than altruism, much like Call of Duty: World War 2, but it’s welcome all the same.
On PC, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is Rs. 3,499 with the Star Wars Battlefront 2: Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition setting you back by Rs. 4,799. The standard edition of Star Wars Battlefront 2 on the PS4 will set you back by Rs. 3,375 and the Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition is Rs. 4,499. And if you’re on the Xbox One, the standard edition of Star Wars Battlefront 2 is Rs. 3,500 and the Star Wars Battlefront 2: Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition is Rs. 4,800. The Xbox One versions of Star Wars Battlefront 2 are 10 percent off if you’re a member of EA Access — the company’s game subscription program that’s exclusive to PC and Xbox One.
Despite an astounding degree of polish with great visuals and fantastic sound design, 2015's Star Wars Battlefront wasn’t a justifiable purchase, more so with copious amounts of paid downloadable content attached to it. With EA removing the need of a season pass for Star Wars Battlefront 2 along with a single-player campaign, it appears that it's serious about making Star Wars Battlefront 2 a compelling purchase. Whether this ends up being the case or not, we'll know closer to November 17.
