Star Wars Battlefront 2 is what happens when a big first-person shooter like Battlefield is set in the Star Wars universe, which is much like Star Wars Battlefront except with an actual single-player campaign this time around.

The Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta is free for all on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. No invites, no pre-orders, and none of the usual shady practices to force you to check it out. Simply download it on the day.

However, if you must play the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta before everyone else, you can do so by pre-ordering the game on PS4, Xbox One, or PC. Doing so will let you play it two days earlier.

If you’ve pre-ordered Star Wars Battlefront 2, you can play it from October 4. But if you don’t feel like paying upfront, the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta will be accessible from October 6.

Galactic Assault mode (giant team battles with character classes) on Naboo Starfighter
Assault mode (space combat) on Fondor
Strike mode (eight vs. eight in objective-based scenarios) on Maz Kanata’s castle on Takodana
Arcade mode (player versus AI enemies) on Theed in single-player
