Microsoft has announced that it will make its Kinect for Xbox One sensor available in the market as a standalone device starting October 7 this year, priced at $149.99 (roughly Rs. 9,500). The standalone Kinect sensor for the Xbox One console will be available bundled with Dance Central Spotlight.

"The standalone Kinect sensor comes with Dance Central Spotlight, the latest in the dance series from developer Harmonix, which will be available as a digital download and features a soundtrack of 10 hot tracks. Kinect with Dance Central Spotlight will be available at retailers for $149.99," stated the official Xbox blog post.

Microsoft in May took $100 off the price of its Xbox One gaming console by unbundling the console's Kinect sensor. The Redmond tech giant announced that it would sell the console for $399 and the console bundled with Kinect motion sensor for $499.

Notably, Microsoft earlier this month announced India availability of the Xbox One console on September 23, and made it available for pre-order it Rs. 39,990 without Kinect, and Rs. 45,990 with Kinect.

In July, Microsoft made its Kinect for Windows V2 device available to anyone for $199. Notably, the Kinect for Windows V2 came with Windows SDK 2.0 so that developers could get a chance to mould the functions of the audio-motion gesture recognition device according to their needs.

Earlier this month, Microsoft rolled out a new system software update for the Xbox One console, bringing 'improved social features' as well as some new features.
