Sony is all set to offer new features in a couple of upcoming system software updates for its latest gaming console, the PlayStation 4. The company says it has listened to PS4 user feedback to add most of these new features that are aimed at improving video editing, sharing and recording options in the first system update (v1.70), and the ability to archive Twitch broadcasts in the second system update.

The first system software update for Sony PlayStation 4 console will be arriving in the 'upcoming weeks', with no word on its exact roll-out dates. The second Twitch broadcast archiving software update would be released sometime in the 'future'. Scott McCarthy, Director, Product Planning & Software Innovation, SCEA, made the announcement on the PlayStation Blog.

As a part of the Sony PlayStation 4 v1.70 system software update, the firm will be offering a 'rich video editing' tool, through which gamers can edit videos and personalize their gameplay videos. Users will also be able to export and save videos and screenshots directly to USB drive via the 'Share' button.

The upcoming PS4 system software v1.70 update will allow gamers to turn HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) off at any point of time. Sony says it had at launch announced it would be bringing this feature, which will enable users to capture gameplay via HDMI. The particular Sony PS4 software update will also bring some other features which the firm promised to reveal later. "There's a lot more coming in this update as well, so stay tuned for more-there will be plenty in the update to excite everyone."

In the second upcoming system update for Sony PlayStation 4, users will be able to archive Twitch broadcasts - a much requested feature according to Sony, and broadcasts will be available in a 720p resolution.
