With Red Dead Redemption 2's gameplay trailers giving us an idea of what to expect and developer Rockstar Games announcing crucial details such as how Red Dead Online will function, it seems that Red Dead Redemption 2's gameplay length has also been revealed. According to an interview with Rockstar's Vice President for Creative, Dan Houser,  Red Dead Redemption 2's gameplay length is 60 hours claims Vulture Magazine. It's unknown if this is the amount of time it will take to finish Red Dead Redemption 2's main story or the entire campaign plus all side-objectives. The first Red Dead Redemption could be finished in under 13 hours. The initial length was to be 65 hours but it was pared down.

"The acting for Red Dead Redemption 2’s story mode is now complete, but as release day approaches, five hours of the 65-hour game are dumped," writes Vulture's Harold Goldberg. "At one point, protagonist Arthur Morgan had two love interests, but 'we decided one of them didn’t work,'says Dan. And whole missions were removed because 'they were never going to work technically or be quite slick enough, or they felt superfluous. We removed a mission on a train where you had to deal with bounty hunters, because it was fun at first, but then it wasn’t. This part of the process is always about compromise and horse trading. Everyone always loses bits of the game they love.'"

In addition to this, Houser teased that we may even see Red Dead Redemption 3 "if this one does well enough and we think we have other interesting things to say."

At the moment though, all the focus is on Red Dead Online which is out in November, which Houser wants to be "as robust as Grand Theft Auto Online." The interview claims "scenes are still being written even as they are being shot in Rockstar’s mo-cap studios."

Speaking of GTA Online, Rockstar Games announced several GTA Online bonuses for players, including the one linked to Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-orders. If you have already purchased the game, fret not. You can unlock the $1 million in-game cash bonus by simply logging into GTA Online by October 15. Rockstar says the in-game currency bonus “will be deposited into Maze Bank accounts” between October 16 and October 22.

Beyond that, there are bonuses available for those not interested in buying Red Dead Redemption 2 as well. GTA Online players can earn an extra $300,000 in-game currency and unlock the ‘Green Wireframe Bodysuit’ by simply logging in by October 15.
