Remastered versions of the famous Ratchet and Clank games for the PS2 will feature on the PlayStation Network on August 28 for $29.99.

Gamers will be able to enjoy 1080p HD remasters of three PS2 Ratchet and Clank classics: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: GoingCommando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal.

Further, the games also include Trophy and 3D support (in 720p) along with online play restored to Up Your Arsenal.

The announcement which came via a Playstaion blog stated," We realize that the Ratchet & Clank Collection is arriving in North America a bit later than it did in Europe and Japan. To reward you for your patience,we're giving you exclusive first access to the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo when you purchase the Collection. If you love Ratchet, you probably love Sly and the Ratchet & Clank Collection will let you test-drive Sly's new time-traveling adventure starting on August 28th. As an added bonus, you'll receive a special Ratchet & Clank 10th anniversary avatar!"

The Ratchet and Clank franchise is developed by Insomniac Games exclusively for PlayStation consoles. The series follows the adventures of Ratchet, an animalistic human-like character who is also a mechanic and Clank who is a sentient robot. The duo explore a fictional universe and battle evil forces with exotic weapons and gadgets.

The games in the series are a mixture of platforming, action and role playing from a third person perspective. The Ratchet and Clank trilogy has been well received by gamers across the world and is quite reminiscent of the Jak and Daxter series.
